Could it be love at first sight? It certainly feels that way the first time I laid eyes on this striking rosy toned palette! The name of this palette couldn't be more apt and I can feel heart palpitations as I applied these gleaming rosy neutrals to my eyes. We could all use a little more love going into next year and this palette is truly made of love! 

As with their previous, The By Terry V.I.P. Expert Palettes this limited edition palette is inspired by the beautiful city of Paris, home to By Terry. This palette is meant to create an effortless Parisian look and with travel being so limited in the foreseeable future, this is a great way to transport yourself to the beautiful city. These palettes are always of exceptional quality, you can read my previous reviews Paris By Light Palette here and Paris By Night Palette here. 

The By Terry V.I.P. Expert Palette Paris Mon Amour retails for $56.00 USD and is available at By Terry. This palette is a limited edition and often sells out quickly. The palette has a sleek and slim design for the larger size, making it easy to store, pack, and travel with. The front of the compact has a beautiful reflective metallic pink design with a whimsical purple etching of the iconic skyline of Paris. This imagery is a lovely piece of art and is carried on in the interior with the imprints of iconic Parisian icons on the eyeshadows themselves. This palette also has a large mirror, which excellent for makeup application and travel. 

SHADES 

This palette has a very clear rosy and romantic theme and is designed to create looks for day or night. I love a versatile color palette that allows you to create a variety of looks. The versatility doesn't end there though because these are rosy and neutral tones, you can use many of the shades on the cheeks! Additionally, this palette has an ideal balance between rosy shades and neutral shades, which is extremely important when you're dealing with rosy tones because, without neutral tones to balance the rosy ones, the rosy shades can make you look sickly. I believe this palette is very well balanced. 

The shades included in the palette are: 

Top Row (left to right) 

Warm Cream (Matte) - This warm cream shade has a yellow undertone and makes are great highlight or base shade for prepping the lid for other eyeshadows. 

Champagne Bronze (Satin) - This shade looks like a cool medium taupe brown but it is actually a light champagne bronze shade with a very fine reflect, which translates to a sheen on the eyes. This great mid-tone shade is versatile and can be used in the crease all over the lid or to define the eyes. 

Cool Pink (Shimmer) - This cool pink shade is a light and romantic pink with a silvery-shimmer. This pink is flattering and doesn't make the eyes look like they're irritated. It s a very brightening shade of pink. 

Golden Pink (Shimmer) - This shade is a very warm pink with a subtle orange undertone and strong gold shimmer. The gold shimmer in the shade is very strong and it's a very flattering way to wear pink. 

Cool Brown (Matte) - This cool matte brown with a subtle rosy undertone is rich and deep. It will add a lot of smokiness and definition to the eyes. It can even be used as an eyeliner. 

Bottom Row (left to right) 

Bronze (Shimmer) - This warm bronze shade has a subtle reddish undertone and strong copper shimmer. This shade is deep enough to smoke out the eyes and add definition. 

Golden Champagne (Shimmer) - This warm golden champagne shade has slightly larger particles of yellow gold shimmer. This shade can be used as a topper or just as a very glamourous lid shade. 

Cranberry (Shimmer) - This warm cranberry shade is a very flattering and easy to use red shade. The warm copper undertone makes it easy to pair with all the other shades to add definition to the eyes. 

Champagne Taupe (Satin) - This shade appears to be a very light taupe shade with a very subtle golden undertone but on the skin, it is more of a champagne taupe shade with a light golden shimmer. This shade has a soft sheen but a lot of particles of shimmers. 

Beige (Matte) - This matte beige shade is almost perfectly neutral. It is lighter than the Warm Cream shade in this palette and it great for brightening the eyes. It can be used as an all-over prep shade for the other eyeshadows or as a highlight shade.

FORMULA 

This palette has a very nice range of textures and finishes, which adds so much dimension and complexity to a look. I do wish there were a few more matte shades but I think overall, it's a pretty balanced palette. All the eyeshadows have a very creamy formula that blends well and adheres to the skin without primer. None of them have fallout as you're applying them and they're all very true to color, never getting muddy over time. 

Matte Eyeshadows 

The matte eyeshadows are all very soft and creamy. The soft texture is very light but it adheres very well to the skin. You can encounter a bit of fallout if you pick up too much product on the brush so, I recommend picking up a little at a time. It is also best to pick up a little bit because the eyeshadows are quite pigmented. The matte eyeshadows are very blendable, silky, and smooth. They apply evenly to the eyes and layer very well. I would say the Cool Brown doesn't perform as well as the other matte shades, it requires a bit more layering because it is sheerer. This isn't bad because the color is so deep, the sheer finish makes it easier to use and build on the eyes. 

Satin Eyeshadows 

The satin eyeshadows have ultra-fine particles of shimmer, which adds a nice sheen and glow to the eyes. These eyeshadows offer versatility because of the minimal shimmer, it allows you to use them on the lids or in the crease for light definition. These shadows are sheer and translucent finish that can be layered to build-up to a soft color. It's hard to find eyeshadows that have this soft sheen and glow but a good buildable pigmentation. These satin shades are more nuanced because of the sheer shimmer, allowing the undertone to come through. 

Shimmer Eyeshadows 

The shimmer eyeshadows are so exceptional with their rich and vibrant pigmentation! You need very little eyeshadow to get a full impact of color. These have a very dense and creamy texture that feels almost like a cream eyeshadow but they wear like a powder eyeshadow. The shimmer shades are really rich and deliver color in one swipe. They remain as vibrant at the end of a long day, as when they were first applied to the eyes. 

The shimmer eyeshadows look almost-metallic on the eyes because they have such fine and dense shimmer throughout the powder eyeshadow. These really blend seamlessly into one another or they can be layered to create a whole new shade. While the shimmer is heavy, they are also very fine particles that look flattering on everyone, even mature skin types. The shimmers and pigment adhere very well to the skin, lasting on the eyes all day long without fading or creasing. 

THE LOOK 

The obvious look you can go with this palette is a rosy look but I wanted to demonstrate a perfectly neutral look using this rosy palette. For this look, I applied the Champagne Bronze shade into my crease and blended it up towards my brow. I then took the Cool Brown and applied the eyeshadow at an angle from the middle of my lashline outwards into a smokey wing shape with a small smudger brush. You can also use an angled brush for more precision and blend it out. I also go in with a tiny bit of the Cool Brown into the very outer crease. I finished the look with the Champagne Taupe shade on the inner two-thirds of the eye, blending this shade from the middle of the lid to the Cool Brown. I also smudged the Champagne Bronze and Cool Brown on the lower lashline. This is a look you can wear every day or spice it up with some lashes for a special occasion. 

FINAL THOUGHTS 

We often see rosy toned eyeshadow palettes but not all of them are as balanced as this one. This palette has a beautiful balance between a variety of finishes and a range of eyeshadow tones. The wide variety of eyeshadows makes this palette extremely versatile and complex. You can really go from day to night, from simple to smokey, or from light to dark with this whole palette and nothing more. The colors and textures provide so much dimension and complexity to every look. 

The creamy textures of the eyeshadows are so easy to apply and blend. The pigmentation is rich ad vibrant. The formula is smooth, silky, and creamy. These eyeshadows have every attribute you can dream of from an eyeshadow palette. Plus, for a luxury eyeshadow palette, the price is extremely reasonable and you get a ton of product! I can't recommend this palette enough! It has a wonderful formula and stunning shade compilation.
