About Me

Hello! Welcome to | pretty is my profession | the beauty blog for the beauty addicts and luxury lovers.

I created this blog to share my passion and thoughts with the ever-growing beauty community. It has been an amazing journey getting to connect with like-minded individuals and being able to talk about my passion without judgement.

While I enjoy high-end and luxury beauty, you will find a variety of beauty brands featured on here. From reviews to favorites, I strive to stay active in the beauty community and share my thoughts. Please feel free to make any suggestions or requests for reviews and content. I always disclose when I have been sent products in my reviews.

A little bit about me...

I am a former professional makeup artist, working on everything from bridal, to film, and TV. While I really enjoyed being a makeup artist, I desired a little more. I went to work in the beauty and fashion industry for a while and now, although I no longer work in the beauty industry, I will always consider it my profession. This blog is my way of sharing my experience and knowledge with my fellow beauty-lovers.

Hustle by day...Shop at night...

I am a part-time blogger with a full-time job and I do commit a lot of time and energy into this blog and my social media. Sometimes there will be long lulls without posts because I am quite busy and have other commitments, as well as, full-time job, so please bear with me. I write, photograph, and curate all the content on my own. I do not have any ghostwriters, a writing team, or any management team. This blog is 100% own and run by me, so you have a guarantee that all my thoughts and opinions are real and honest.

About me - beauty...

I am an Angelino at heart, having grown up in Los Angeles, but I currently live in beautiful San Diego! I love living by the beach and I love the vibe here.  Much of my makeup style is inspired by these two cities. The city chic, luxury vibe of LA and the beachy, laid-back vibe of SD; is me wrapped up in a little package.

My beauty philosophy is naturally enhancing and glowing beauty. While I love beauty trends and following them, I don't believe in combining all the trends simultaneously on my face. I love balancing trends and textures.

Skin tone - medium to tan (varies by season and sun exposure)

Foundation color - anywhere from a MAC NC 30 -40, typically around NC30/35

Skin Type - Normal to dry

Hair Type - Wavy, Color-Treated

Hair Color - Purple

Hair Length - Long

  1. Love your photos and love that you also work full time while having a successful beauty blog! I just started my beauty blog, begoldie.com, as a creative outlet for my beauty passion, and am inspired by sites like yours. :)

  2. Can you do dupes for high end makeup in which the colors and textures are comparable? And if it is cruelty and natural too would be excellent!
