| Review | Augustinus Bader The Body Cream

The magical Augustinus Bader formula can now be slathered on your entire body with this rich body cream. Many people know Augustinus Bader for his cult face creams, which are a social media sensation and celebrity fave for good reason! You can find my review of The Cream and The Rich Cream, here. Spoiler alert: I'm a HUGE fan of the Augustinus Bader formula! I knew I had to get The Body Cream because I recently came to the realization that I wanted to treat my body like I do with my face. Considering the Augustinus Bader face creams are some of my all-time favorite face creams, there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to try the body cream!

The Augustinus Bader The Body Cream retails for $165.00 USD and is available at Augustinus Bader and other retailers. This ultra-luxurious body cream is housed in a large heavy glass jar in the famous Augustinus Bader blue with a copper-colored plastic lid. The jar is extremely large, thick, and heavy with a particularly thick bottom. The jar feels so heavy, you'd think you were holding a giant candle, it really emphasizes the luxurious nature of this product. 

FORMULA 

This body cream is actually more of a body butter. It literally has the texture of butter! The white cream is extremely thick and solid in the jar. You can't just dip your finger into the product, you need to scrape or scoop some product out. I don't often feel that products should include a spatula but this one definitely needs it. Plus, it would add to the luxurious experience. I usually just use the back of my nail to scoop some out or use an extra spatula I have around. 

This body cream even behaves like butter! When you scoop a bit into your palm, it feels fairly solid, like butter, but as you rub it into your skin, it begins to melt into the skin! Though it melts into the skin, it doesn't have the greasy and oily texture of melted butter. It feels incredibly rich, soft, and creamy. It almost feels like rubbing in a very rich face cream into your body. It leaves the skin hydrated but it leaves no residue or a layer of product on top of your skin! Your skin just drinks it up and instantly feels softer. 



This body cream is fragrance-free and has no noticeable scent, which is ideal for those who have a fragrance sensitivity. I personally prefer body lotions to have no scent because I don't have to work about it irritating my skin or competing with a fragrance I want to wear that day. 

The magic of this cream is that it starts treating your skin pretty much immediately! You'll start to feel your skin getting softer immediately. After only an hour or two, your skin feels SO SOFT! Softer than it did only an hour or two ago! I have NEVER had this happen with ANY OTHER PRODUCT before! It's truly miraculous! As this cream sits on your skin, you can feel your skin getting softer and more supple. It becomes smoother and looks significantly healthier after application. I use this product in the evening and when I wake up in the morning, my skin feels so incredibly soft, supple, and hydrated! Like the Augustinus Bader face creams, this body cream delivers results overnight and I am shocked. 



I never believe it when brands claim 24-hour hydration and this brand doesn't necessarily claim it but I believe it! My skin only needs one application in a 24 hour period and it feels heavenly! The cream actually lingers on the skin for 24 hours. I find that when I'm showering the next day, I still feel a thin veil of the cream on my skin. I just keep touching my skin long after I applied this cream because it feels so surreal and soft. I can just feel how hydrated and smooth my skin is. I don't feel the need to apply anything else for the entire day. This product really retains and maintains moisture in the skin. This cream smooths and plumps out wrinkles and lines in the skin. It really gives the skin the most youthful and healthy appearance. Over time, I've found my skin to look and feel tighter and firmer. 

This cream also claims to help with cellulite and stretch marks, which I have but I haven't used it long enough to see a dramatic difference in both areas but I have noticed some changes! This is shocking because I don't really believe  Like I stated previously, I do notice a firming and tightening of my skin. I also noticed that after using this cream, my stretch marks don't look as red or apparent. 

For the high price tag, I expected some results but what it delivered was more than I could have dreamt of! This body cream is a renewing overnight treatment and it's totally worth the insane price. This cream makes your skin so healthy and youthful only after several uses! You don't even have to use it daily to see the amazing results from this body cream. I use this only several times a week as a special treat for my skin and it has helped maintain truly healthy and hydrated skin. 

I'm not one to splurge on a body product, ever! However, because this contains the Augustinus Bader technology, it was worth dishing out some serious cash for it. Also, it comes with an insane amount of product. Even if you were using this daily, it would take you a long while to get through this big tub because you need so little product. I am just in awe at the condition of my skin! It's just so soft, smooth, and healthy! The overall tone of my skin is flawless thanks to this cream! 



I have long searched for a body treatment that isn't just for hydrating but an anti-aging but there are so few of these available on the market. This one truly offers anti-aging benefits for the skin and the results are fast and visible! If you're having a hard time considering this product because of the price, consider that you're paying for a body treatment and not just another body lotion. This product goes far beyond just moisturizer, it is a powerful anti-aging treatment.

This formula has a surprisingly short ingredients list and it's full of very high-quality ingredients. There are no fillers ingredients or a bad ingredient in here! This is the beauty of splurging on a well-formulated product. You're more likely to get only the best ingredients for your skin and therefore, your money's worth.

Some ingredients I want to highlight in this formula are:

Shea Butter - This appears to be the base of this body cream, which makes sense because it has such a thick and butter-like texture. Shea butter, alone, is a fantastic rich hydrating product for the skin. It contains high concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins to nourish and hydrate the skin.

TFC-8 - This is Augustinus Bader's patented anti-aging technology, which is in every product from his range. It is the one unique ingredient that takes this body cream from ordinary to extraordinary! This ingredient acts a lot like retinol, which helps promote cellular turnover and repairing of the skin cells. First of all, it is very difficult to find body products with retinol or a potent antiaging ingredient. I don't understand why because you would think you wouldn't want the skin on your body to age, just like the on your face. Nobody wants a smooth face and a wrinkly body. This antiaging ingredient is one of the best I have ever tried and it really does make your skin look more youthful, smoother, softer, and gives it a healthy glow!

Bisabolol - This ingredient is a component of chamomile essential oil and is meant to help soothe the skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties, which makes it ideal for treating acne, rosacea, rashes, psoriasis, and other skin conditions. It also helps promote healthy skin barrier function.

FINAL THOUGHTS 

Never in my life would I have thought I would even purchase such a ridiculously priced body product but here I am also saying that it was 100% worth it! I used to have very flakey, cracked, and scaly skin on my legs until I started using higher quality products on my body to care and nourish it. This is one of the products that have completely transformed the condition of my skin! The formula goes more than just skin deep, it feels like it's genuinely making my skin healthier and therefore it can manage its moisture levels on its own. I love the feeling of having hydrated and healthy skin that doesn't need more lotion or creams throughout the day. This cream goes beyond being a hydrating body cream, it is an anti-aging body treatment and because of that, it is worth the hefty price tag.
