| Review | Augustinus Bader The Hair Oil 

If I could hoard one hair product, it would be hair oils. I have tried so many, accumulated so many, and now, I may have found the best of the best. Augustinus Bader is known for producing products with the ability to repair and my hair most definitely needs help repairing! I am excited to see the brand move into the haircare category of the beauty industry and from my previous experience with the brand, I have very high hopes for this formula. Read on to find out if this formula is worth a ton of praise or not worth the money. 

The Augustinus Bader The Hair Oil retails for $50.00 USD and is available at Augustinus Bader and other retailers. This reparative hair oil is housed in a luxurious glass bottle with a copper dropper top. The bottle is in the iconic Augustinus Bader blue and is opaque. The bottle really is beautiful and the dropper allows you to dispense the perfect amount of oil, minimizing waste and preventing the user from going overboard. 

FORMULA

This hair oil is incredibly lightweight, probably the lightest oil I have ever tried. It has a very thin texture that barely feels like oil. This is a very potent hair oil, despite feeling so light, I find that you only need a few drops to thoroughly coat your hair. I highly recommend using less than you thin k you need because this formula is so thin and spreads to easily, you can go overboard really fast. The thin texture spreads out very easily and it doesn't weigh down the hair, even very fine hair. I recommend applying a few drops to your palms, rubbing your palms together to evenly distribute the product on the hands, and then distribute the oil through your hair. 

This formula can be used on damp or dry hair without any issues. I like to use it both on my damp hair before I blowdry or airdry my hair. I focus the product on my lengths and ends, then I apply the remaining product toward my roots. Then, I like to brush thoroughly through my hair before blowdrying. Using it before heat styling really helps nourish and protect the hair during styling. I notice a huge difference in the texture of my hair. It instantly hydrates and softens the hair. I also use it after blowdrying or styling my hair to smooth out any frizz on the lengths and ends of the hair. It really gives the finished hair a smooth and silky finish, better than other hair oils than I have tried. Also, this hair oil gives my hair exceptional shine and makes it look very healthy but it doesn't feel greasy or heavy. 

This hair oil is very nourishing because you can instantly feel the difference in the texture of your hair. After shampooing or heat styling my lengths and ends are fairly dry but when I apply this oil, my hair feels significantly smoother and softer. This hair oil gives my hair the silkiest and smoothest finish post-blowout I have ever seen! Typically, after I blowdry my hair, there is significant frizziness and the texture of my hair isn't silky smooth. After I started using this oil, I've had the best blowouts I have ever achieved! Even days after, my hair is is ultra-smooth, soft, and silky. My hair is touchable, healthy, and shiny! 

I love the light and thin texture because I can apply the oil to my hair whenever it feels dry but it doesn't add a greasy texture to my hair. It just adds more shine and hydration to my dry hair. This product does have a fragrance but it is extremely faint and light. I have to press my nose near it and the fragrance is familiar but hard to explain. It has an almost fruity-clean scent but it is barely detectable, almost like a fragrance you would find in skincare. Once applied to the hair, you can't detect the scent at all. 

The beauty of this oil is that it not only deeply hydrates your strands but it seems to seal the hairs in a protective veil, which prevents the hair splitting, breaking, and tangling. My hair feels so silky that it almost feels like I'm running my hands through water. Each strand just slips through my fingers and it is the healthiest my hair has ever looked without a greasy feeling throughout my locks. I also love that this formula is so versatile because I can use it in wet or dry hair. It is a very protective and preventative formula that just really improves the health of my hair despite, all the damage I put it through like, dying it, heat styling, and lack of trimming it.

From what I see in the full ingredients list, their exclusive complex is not included in the formula because it would be listed as PALMITOYL TRIPEPTIDE-8 but I don't see this peptide complex in this formula. I believe what they mean by "powered by TFC8® technology" is the formula is based on similar research but not necessarily the same technology. To me, this is the brand using their formula's notoriety to market their other products. I personally find this a little deceptive. I don't think the brand needs this over-the-top type of marketing because their products really speak for themselves. 

Vitamin E - Helps support a healthy scalp and growth with its antioxidant properties. It reduces oxidative stress on the scalp and hair, which is anti-aging for the hair. 

Argan Oil - This oil hydrates the hair, protects it from breakage, increases it's elasticity, it softens the hair, and shine. 

Castor Seed Oil - This oil hydrates the scalp while protecting the strands. It is a hair strengthener and known to help with hair growth. 

Pomegranate Oil - This is known to be very moisturizing, it strengthens the scalp, it strengthens the hair follicles, it revives dull hair, it boosts hair thickness, and it helps prevent breakage. 

Baobab Oil - This oil is high in omega fatty acids to nourish the hair. This is a moisturizing oil that strengthens brittle hair. Its a lightweight oil that absorbs deeply into the hair follicle, protects hair from pollution and UV damage. and it gives the hair a great shine. 

Sunflower Seed Oil - This oil contains oleic acid, which can stop hair breakage, helps with dandruff, itchiness, and inflammation. It helps moisturize the hair. 

Squalane - I love squalane for my skin but I had no idea it had incredible benefits for the hair too! It has restorative properties that smooth and coat the hair fiber, protecting the hair and sealing it. It prevents the hair from dehydrating while feeling light and silky. It significantly increases shine and prevents breakage. 

FINAL THOUGHTS 

I have tried A LOT of hair oils and while I have liked most of them, this one blows them all out of the water by a tenfold! I honestly didn't think a hair oil could actually get much better than the ones I have tried but if anyone could so it, it would be Augustinus Bader. His products don't come cheap and I would tell you if it was garbage because I pay for all my products from the brand myself, but this oil is incredible! This hair oil gives me the silkiest, shiniest, and healthiest hair! Even with months without a hair cut, color-treated hair, and excessive heat styling, my hair is still looking the best it ever has! This oil has changed my hair routine, making it so much easier and faster to dry my hair, even when I I air dry it. It allows my blowouts to look consistently amazing! I just love how silky and soft my hair looks after a blowout. I am not great a styling my hair but this oil makes my hair look like I can out of salon every time! I can't recommend this oil enough! It has made my hair maintenance and styling routine so enjoyable. While it is expensive, you need so little that even with long hair, like mine, your bottle will last forever. Once you try this hair oil, you will never want to use another one!

| Review | Augustinus Bader The Leave-In Hair Treatment

Augustinus Bader is breaking into the hair-game and I'm all for it! I've been a long-time fan of their repairing skincare range and this entry into haircare isn't a surprising extension for the brand. Along with a shampoo and conditioner, the brand has also released a variety of hair treatments. Since I am very hard on my hair by coloring it and styling it with heat, I use leave-in treatments often to help repair my hair. I was very excited to see a leave-in treatment from the brand that has proven to repair my skin so well. I am really hoping it would do the same for my hair. 

The Augustinus Bader The Leave-In Hair Treatment retails for $50.00 USD and is available at Augustinus Bader and other retailers. This product is housed in a small blue plastic tube with a copper twist-off cap. This bottle is shockingly small for a leave-in hair treatment, it only contains 1oz. of product, which is significantly less than what I am used to for a leave-in treatment. Typical leave-in treatments usually contain at least 3oz. of product, which makes sense because you usually need quite a lot of product depending on how long your hair is. I am very disappointed at how little product is included but I would consider the treatment to be much more potent than a typical leave-in conditioner, it is actually more like a leave-in serum. Additionally, since the formula is so runny and you woul typically store this product upright with the cap on the bottom, I find the cap gets quite messy. You will need to be very careful when opening the cap to use it because the treatment easily runs out of the tube. 

FORMULA 

This leave-in hair treatment is a serum and not a conditioner formula or texture. The lightweight and runny texture allow the product to easily distribute throughout the hair so, you really don't need much product. I find that you only need about a nickel to a quarter-sized amount, depending on how long your hair is. I have a medium hair length at the moment and I feel like I need only a little more than a nickel-sized amount. Since this formula is so light and runny, it is best to use this product on damp hair. Just be sure there isn't too much water because it can wash away the serum instead of allowing it to absorb into the hair. I just thoroughly run this product through the lengths and ends of my hair and then I take the remaining up towards the roots. I only do this, not because the product is greasy in any way, but because My lengths and ends are much more damaged than my roots. I recommend focusing on the areas where you have the most damage or need the most nourishment in your hair. 

The product itself literally feels like a face serum! It is neither sticky nor is it greasy. It just disappears into the hair invisibly and you don't notice a huge difference initially but you will notice your hair is more brushable and smoother. When your hair begins to dry, that is when you will notice the big difference. Whether you air-dry your hair or use a blowdryer, you will notice that your hair dries with significantly less frizz, your hair will look smoother, and sleeker. When I typically air-dry my hair, I notice that my hair gets quite wild and frizzy, even with product placed on it. However, when I use this treatment, my hair looks much smoother and less frizzy! It is even more of a significant difference when you blowdry your hair! 

Like I said, when I first applied this product to my hair, I didn't notice anything amazing but when I dried my hair with a blowdryer, my hair looked smoother, softer, sleeker, and it even gave my hair some volume! I usually have to use a separate volumizing product from my leave-in product to get volume in my hair when I blow it out but this serum does it all! I had been looking for a product that would give me that silky, sleek, celebrity blowout look, and this leave-in combined with the Augustinus Bader The Hair Oil (review coming soon), is the perfect combination for achieving the most flawless blowout! 

While this formula does seem to smooth out the texture of the hair follicles, reducing frizz and unwanted texture, it is not nearly as hydrating as I expected. It does seem to hydrate and protect the hair from heat because I notice the difference in my hair after blowdrying my hair. Typically, post-blowdry my hair feels drier than when I use this treatment. Still, I find that I need to apply hair oil after my hair drying because my lengths and ends still feel dry, just not as dry as when I use other leave-in treatments. 

I have been using this hair serum for over a year and I am still amazed by the results every time! There's nothing that compares to this formula. I found that long term use has made my hair feel a lot stronger and healthier. I don't cut my hair as often as I should, only about every six months, which means I really rely on product to help strengthen an treat my hair in the meantime. I feel that this treatment keeps my hair so healthy, despite the lack of hair cuts and the regular heat styling. It makes my hair styling so much easier and it delivers the BEST RESULTS I have ever received from a hair product before. It just leaves my hair so soft, smooth, an silky.

FINAL THOUGHTS 

Based purely on the size and the amount of product in the tube, it definitely feels like you aren't getting value out of this product and it doesn't seem worth it but, the product itself is phenomenal! I guess that's the nature of luxury products. You don't get much product but when it's good, it's phenomenal and well worth the price! I only wash my hair about once a week so, using this product weekly doesn't break the bank for me. The results are honestly unlike any leave-in hair product I have used before! There is nothing that compares to this formula! My hair is just so much stronger, healthier, softer, silkier, and shinier when I use this treatment. I have never really been a "hair-person" and felt the need to spend a lot of money on my hair but this product just makes such a huge difference in my routine. I was skeptical that they brand was going to deliver amazing haircare but I shouldn't have been so skeptical because they really have yet to release a product I hate. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product and I urge you to give it a try! Warning, you may just fall in love with it! Be careful! I have no regrets about this product and I will be continuing to repurchase this product throughout my lifetime!

| Review | Augustinus Bader The Ultimate Soothing Cream

When you have dry and easily reactive skin, the changing of the seasons can be really rough on your skin. I've found as I age, my skin has become increasingly sensitive and my allergies take a toll on my skin. I find myself breaking out in eczema rashes from time to time, which means during these times, I need to find something much more gentle and simple for my skin. However, if it is so simple, I'm not treating my issues like pigmentation and wrinkles. I want something that does it all and doesn't make my skin freak out. The Augustinus Bader creams have always been kind to my skin and worked well and I couldn't be more excited to try this soothing cream! Since the brand has yet to disappoint me, I have very high expectations for this new formula. 

The Augustinus Bader The Ultimate Soothing Cream retails for $280.00 USD and is available at Augustinus Bader, Sephora, Nordstrom, and other retailers. The cream is housed in a luxurious Augustinus Bader blue glass jar with an iconic branded copper-colored cap. The advantage of jar storage is that you can scrape every last drop of the cream from the jar. The downside is that a jar is not as sanitary as pump bottles like The Cream or The Rich Cream (full review here). 

The jar is refillable with a removable interior tub that is recyclable, as is, the glass jar. Many brands are moving in this direction, as it is an environmentally conscious and more sustainable route for packaging production. In this particular case, I can agree with that sentiment and I appreciate the refillable packaging. You can get just The Ultimate Soothing Cream Refill for $265.00, saving you a bit of dough with each purchase. 

FORMULA 

This cream has a thick and rich cream texture. It is very reminiscent of the famous La Mer Soft Cream in texture. It has an almost-whipped subtly-balmy cream consistency. The "balm" portion of the description of this cream doesn't exactly come through for me. To me, this cream is just a soft and rich cream. It is on the more solid side of the cream type of moisturizer and it is best scooped out from the jar, which is why I'm surprised it doesn't come with some sort of spatula, like many high-end creams do. 

This cream melts into the skin very luxuriously and feels instantly soothing. It is a very nourishing and hydrating cream. It truly lives up to its soothing name and soothes very dry and irritated skin. Winters are often a rough time for me because my skin is naturally on the drier side and my allergies tend to act up, causing more irritation and triggering my eczema. This is one of the few creams that really helps repair and soothe my dry, cracked, and sensitive skin. I still need medicated cream for my eczema breakouts but for the rest of my skin, this product works like a dream. 

I would say the results of this cream are very similar to the famous, The Cream and The Rich Cream (full review here) but perhaps not as striking as the two famous creams. What I mean by this is that I'm not as wowed by my complexion when I use this cream but it comes pretty close, which is saying something. 

First of all, this formula instantly soothes and hydrates the skin. So, if your skin is feeling really dry, irritated, or inflamed, you'll immediately notice the difference in how your skin feels. While it is a thicker cream, it doesn't feel greasy or heavy on the skin. It blends into the skin quickly and doesn't require you to really rub the cream into the skin. It leaves your skin with a cushiony veil of moisture and leaves the skin feeling quite hydrated, like a very light oil on the skin. This hydrating veil does absorb into the skin over time and within two hours or so, you will notice it is almost fully absorbed. It creates a very smooth texture all over the skin, which is great for makeup application, especially if you have dry skin. 

One thing that I always like to point out about exceptional skincare formulas is the product's ability to fully saturate the skin. That is, when I apply this cream in the evenings, it doesn't just absorb and disappear but it treats and nourishes my skin all night long to the point in which my skin can no longer absorb any more product. You will notice that your skin still has a thin veil of product on the skin the next morning, not because it didn't absorb but because the formula is so rich and potent it is still delivering its treatment long after eight hours! You can see it in how plump and radiant your skin looks in the morning, hours after product application!  

This cream doesn't give my skin as much of a noticeable glow as The Cream or The Rich Cream despite, the formula being a lot richer. Like the previous creams, this formula noticeably plumps, smooths and hydrates the skin. It feels very nourishing and helps treat lines and wrinkles. It makes my skin feel incredibly smooth and soft after one use! As you continue to use this cream, it dramatically improves the texture and condition of your skin. I notice a huge difference in my lines and wrinkles when I use this formula. While this formula doesn't give me that glass-skin glow I love from The Cream and The Rich Cream, it still delivers the same amazing treatment with the addition of soothing ingredients for when my skin is feeling irritated.

What I have always appreciated about the Augustinus Bader brand is its commitment to using the highest quality ingredients and the lack of filler or junk ingredients in its formulas. I will say that they create products that really work and it is not all hype and marketing like many luxury brands do. These products are worth it and I don't say that lightly.

Some key ingredients to highlight in this formula are: 

TFC8 - This is the ingredient that you're really paying all the money for in Augustinus Bader formulations. This exclusive complex of amino acids and vitamins is the brand's claim to fame and is what is said to regenerate the skin in miraculous ways. I have no proof of otherwise and in fact, I must agree that this ingredient is absolutely incredible! I have seen my skin transform and improve over time as I use Augustinus Bader skincare in ways I have never seen it do before. This formula actually feels like it repairs and treats the skin! Totarol - Derived from New Zealand heartwood, this ingredient is renowned for its antibacterial properties and its ability to help reduce acne. It is also known to neutralize free radicals. It is known for being a very soothing, nourishing, and anti-inflammatory ingredient. 

Black Cumin Oil - This oil is known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. This ingredient reduces fine lines, fights acne, unclogs pores, fades dark spots. This is one of the most nourishing oils that you can find and is packed with vitamins. This ingredient is regenerative for all signs of aging. 

Evening Primrose Oil - This plant-based oil is known for its ability to soothe, retain moisture, enhance radiance, and strengthen the condition of the skin. This oil acts as a skin conditioner, softening and deeply moisturizing.

FINAL THOUGHTS 

This formula is unique from the other creams in the Augustinus Bader brand in texture and formula. While I prefer the more glowing finish and the formula of The Cream, I still really love this formula. This balm-cream formula serves an important role in my skincare routine, as a soothing and gentle moisturizer for when my allergies and skin starts acting up. As I have gotten older, I've realized there are many times I need a more simple or gentle skincare routine but I still want the anti-aging treatment, this is the perfect moisturizer for that! Most anti-aging formulas are very potent and harsh on sensitive or reactive skin but this formula delivers the same potent treatment but with a gentle and soothing formula. Though this formula is designed to be soothing and rich, it doesn't;t feel greasy or heavy and can be used by all skin types. The finish isn't too dewy, like The Cream or The Rich Cream, it looks natural and just gives a healthy glow to the complexion. For day or night, I am happy to use this cream any day of the week because it DELIVERS RESULTS! I love seeing the way my skin looks and feels the next morning! It feels so plump, fresh, and renewed! My lines are reduced and my complexion is just so healthy and glowing. While the price is a steep one, I have no regrets and 100% RECOMMEND this cream!

| Review | Augustinus Bader The Eye Cream

This may be the most anticipated launch from Augustinus Bader, right after The Serum! I have been chatting with my fellow Augustinus Bader fans about when he would release an eye cream and it's finally here! I couldn't be more excited to try this one out. Augustinus Bader has an incredible track record for developing potent and effective skincare products. I'd love to give the brand another A+ on its report card so, I'm hoping this will be as phenomenal as I'm hoping. Read on to learn about my honest thoughts on this new formula. 

PRICE & PACKAGING 

The Augustinus Bader The Eye Cream retails for $215.00 USD for the complete set with 15ml/0.5oz of product and just the Augustinus Bader The Eye Cream The Nomad Refill retails for $195.00 USD for 15ml/0.5oz tube of product. These are available at Augustinus Bader. 

As with the new The Serum, The Eye Cream comes as a "full set", which includes a significant amount of excess packaging. This set includes a matte blue glass cup with a copper-colored aluminum insert that perfectly holds The Nomad Refill, which contains the serum in a plastic blue pump bottle with a copper-colored aluminum cover, designed for traveling. I have MAJOR issues with this "set" because none of this packaging is necessary AT ALL! 

There is literally no point in having a cup that holds my serum for me. Not only is that ridiculous but it takes up so much room just to hold ONE product! I only purchased the full set for review purposes but I HIGHLY recommend buying only the refill. While the blue glass cup is beautiful and luxurious, it's incredibly unnecessary. It doesn't enhance the luxuriousness of the product nor, does it serve much of a purpose. You can use the cup to store other things like makeup brushes but that doesn't make it worth it. 

What upsets me the most about this packaging is that the brand claims they are being environmentally friendly with this style of packaging but I think producing all this useless packaging is the complete opposite of being environmentally friendly. The only purpose of this heavy glass jar, called The Base,  is to be used as a "holder" for the serum cartridge, which is totally unnecessary! The Base is very large and bulky. It is essentially a large glass cup that takes up a lot of space on the countertop. All the product is contained within the copper aluminum tube, known as, The Nomad. Even then bottom half of the aluminum cartridge is excesses packaging because it can be removed and inside is a plastic tube. 

Really, the only packaging that contains any product is the very core of the aluminum packaging. whish is designed for travel. As beautiful as this the packaging is, it just seems so wasteful. I do not recommend getting the full set. I think The Nomad Refill is the only thing worth paying for. 

FORMULA 

This eye cream has a very lightweight gel-cream formula that leans closer to a gel, feels like a serum, but it still has the more hydrating texture of a cream. This is my perfect eye treatment texture because I have dry skin but I am also very milia-prone so, I can't use anything too heavy because it will block my pores and cause me to develop milia. It is the reason why I am very wary about trying eye creams and treatments because I have only just recently been able to get rid of and reduce my milia. This lightweight texture doesn't clog the skin but is very hydrating on the skin. 

You need the amount equivalent to the point of a ball-point pen, a very small bead of the product will go a long way. It feels instantly hydrating and refreshing. It takes barely any effort to blend it into the skin. It just glides onto the skin and doesn't leave the eye area feeling heavy or greasy. It just feels like a light gel texture and you can apply makeup over it beautifully. It doesn't sink into the skin immediately and it will remain on the skin for a while, which I like because that means it continues to treat my skin for hours! However, it doesn't make your makeup sink in or crease. 

I was shocked to see results after one use! I used this eye cream in the evening and the next morning I awoke with really refreshed, smooth, and soft under eyes! The first thing that I noticed was the way my eye area felt, it was so soft! I noticed that the skin under my eyes felt very firm and tight. When I looked in the mirror, despite not getting the best rest, my eyes didn't appear puffy and I had no under-eye bags! What was more miraculous was that the fine lines I did have under my eyes seemed to have disappeared! This will not be the case for everybody, it depends on the severity and depth of your lines but there was definitely a noticeable difference! My skin under my eyes just looked brighter and more refreshed, again, I didn't get the best rest and typically I would have darkness and puffiness there but neither signs of exhaustion were there! 

I apply the eye cream all the way up to my lashline and I have no issues with the eye cream irritating my eyes. It's such great formula for anyone with sensitive eyes or skin. I really appreciate how gentle it feels but how potent the formula actually is. 

I will say that there is one minor annoyance with this product. If you skin a day or two of using this formula, the eye cream will dry up at the tip of the pump and cause you to pump out a bit more than you need. The annoying thing about this is there's not much you can do about it. You would think the fine tip of the pump would prevent drying out and I was quite surprised that only after one day of skipping the eye cream, it would dry out. 

ONE WEEK RESULTS 

After a week, my undereye areas had never looked better! The fine lines under my eyes are greatly diminished after one week of use! My under-eye area is incredibly smooth and soft in texture. The milia under my eyes has also been greatly improved. In general, this eye cream just makes my skin feels really firm, it looks tighter, and I have no bags, despite some nights with lack of sleep! Also, my eye area is brighter and looks refreshed, again, despite not getting the best sleep some nights! 

After about a month, I can barely make out my fine lines! Many of them have faded so significantly that I feel like my eyes look ten years younger! I'm justs hocked at the disappearance and diminishing of my lines! Also, I don't ever have the usual puffiness in the mornings or any darkness! I am just shocked at how much this one eye cream does!

Some ingredients to highlight in this formula are:  

Pennywort Extract/Centella Asiatica Extract - This herb is known for its high antioxidant content, a rich source of amino acids, and supports hydration in the skin. This ingredient helps with both internal and environmental stressors. This ingredient is powerful and known to calm inflammation, speed wound healing, stimulate new cell growth, build collagen, and improve circulation

Seaweed Extracts - This formula utilizes two types of seaweed that stimulate the skin's defense mechanism, making the skin more resistant to daily stressors and restoring the skin's youthfulness. Seaweed is a soothing ingredient that minimizes puffiness, fades darkness, and fights signs of aging.  The puffiness reduction and darkness reduction is very clear, when I use this eye cream yet, I didn't get good sleep. 

Arjun Tree Extract - This plant extract is known to strengthen the skin barrier and induce sebum production, which reduced dry skin and signs of aging. This plant is enriched with with protective compounds that firms the skin. The firming effect is very obvious after several uses of this eye cream. 

Vitamin C - This is a potent antioxidant that stimulates the production of collagen, brightens the skin, and defends the skin against environmental aggressors. 

Niacinamide/Vitamin B3 - This amazing ingredient is found is some of the best skincare. It is known to soothe the skin, reduce redness, reduce pore size, diminish the appearance of wrinkles, increases suppleness, boosts luminosity, and protects the skin from environmental damage. This very versatile ingredient does it all for the skin and it's a noticeable difference in this formula. 

Vitamin B5 - This essential vitamin for the skin deeply conditions, attracts and lock in moisture, and it pumps the skin. It softens the skin and keeps it really healthy. All of this is very apparent in this formula when you use it regularly. You can really feel how deeply hydrating and nourishing this formula is. This really does keep the skin plump and healthy looking! 

Jojoba Oil - This potent emollient ingredient is rich in essential fatty acids with powerful skin soothing and restorative ingredients. This ingredient easily absorbs into the skin and doesn't cause your pores to clog or become congested. 

FINAL THOUGHTS 

This eye cream has a beautiful light texture that doesn't feel heavy or clog the skin, which is so essential when it comes to the under eye area. Heavy emollients often cause milia to develop, or little bumps on the skin, and I am very prone to this. I have not had an issue with this at all with this eyes cream, it has only improved my under eyes! The results are immediate and they only exponentially get better with more use! I am very picky with eye treatments and I find many don't actually do anything for me but with this eye cream, the results are noticeable! 

Again, the only thing that disappoints me about this product is the excess packaging. While I understand this is part of the luxury experience, I just find it so unnecessary. The packaging just isn't worth it and takes up so much space. Despite the wasteful packaging, I adore this eye cream and I highly recommend it! If you are looking for a super potent eye cream, this one will have you falling in love with your skin again!

| Review | Augustinus Bader The Serum

Wow... I can't believe it's finally here! The long-awaited serum from Augustinus Bader is finally here! I loved the Augustinus Bader x Victoria Beckham Cell Rejuvenating Power Serum. You can read my review here. I predict that this serum will be even better! I haven't really been disappointed with an Augustinus Bader product yet. This new serum is in new and different packaging from the Augustinus Bader Creams. It appears to be the most luxurious product released from the brand to date! I'm excited to share my thoughts and opinions on this formula. 

PRICE & PACKAGING 

The Augustinus Bader The Serum retails for $375.00 USD and is available at Augustinus Bader. This is probably the priciest product per ounce, yet. The packaging is incredibly luxurious! It is the epitome of luxury! When I received the package, I was surprised about how heavy it was. The serum comes in a large and thick textured box. Inside is the serum cartridge and the cartridge holder/bottle. 

Augustinus Bader has these fancy names for each of these packaging parts but it really is a lot of excessive packaging. The bottom portion of the "cartridge" is considered "The Nomad", it is essentially a travel case for your serum and it can be removed from the actual serum cartridge. This aluminum copper-colored outer shell is very lightweight and in my opinion, USELESS. The actual serum itself is contained in a plastic tube with an airless pump. You can easily and safely travel with the serum tube without this aluminum casing so, I don't see the point of this case. You can recycle the aluminum case but if they just didn't include it, it would be even better for the environment. You can purchase The Augustinus Bader The Serum Nomad Refill for $350.00 USD at Augustinus Bader.  I HIGLY recommend purchasing just the Nomad Refill!

So, when you remove the aluminum case, you have an Augustinus Bader-blue tube with the copper pump and cap. This plastic tube is study packaging and literally all you need so, I have no idea (except for wanting money), why you would need the aluminum case or the glass container/holder. If Augustinus Bader had just sold this tube of serum, it would cut at least a hundred dollars off the cost of this serum.

I'm not quite sure what to call the thick and heavy outer bottle but Augustinus Bader calls it, "The Base". At first, I thought it was a cool concept because I thought this potion would actually attach to the cartridge, but it doesn't and it is TOTALLY UNNECESSARY! Listen, I love luxury things and luxury beauty products but THIS is the biggest waste of resources and money! I literally have no idea what the point of this serum "holder" is for. It's like if you bought a toothbrush and it came with a hundred-dollar luxury toothbrush holder. I don't understand why that this holder is mandatory to purchase when it literally only holds the serum cartridge and serves no other purpose.

Since you can use the cartridge on its own, it feels INCREDIBLY wasteful and excessive to have the big and bulky holder. While the thick glass vase for your serum feels so luxurious and looks beautiful on your vanity, it takes up SO MUCH SPACE and it is unnecessary because the serum takes up ten percent of the holder. Again, the serum is self-contained in the cartridge and you don't need the holder at all! I don't need a fancy glass holder just for my serum. How is this being eco-friendly??! I understand that the point of this separate packaging because they claim it is to be more eco-friendly but I feel like it would be more eco-friendly to just provide the cartridge. Plus, the cost will be lower.

Currently, you can't buy only the cartridge but the individual cartridges will be available in the future. I will update this blog with the price when this is available. I love the Augustinus Bader brand but I am not happy with the direction they took with this packaging. It's just so excessive, wasteful, and unnecessary. While they try to spin it as being environmentally friendly and conscious, they are doing quite the opposite by producing all this excessive additional packaging that is so unnecessary! I really wish they would just offer the serum cartridge and let the product speak for itself.

FORMULA 

This serum comes out of the cartridge as a milky white color and it is the typical runny serum texture. You really only need about a nickel-sized amount for your face, neck, and decolletage. This serum is fast-absorbing, within 30 seconds or so. It leaves the skin a bit hydrated but it doesn't feel like much on the skin. It has no noticeable scent, I would feel good saying it is fragrance-free. This is obviously great for all skin types but especially, sensitive skin types. 

I tested this serum for one week and I only used it once a day, in the evening. I used it in combination with the Augustinus Bader The Essence (full review here) and the Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream (full review here). What I have discovered after using the brand for a few years now is that these products work well with other brands but for the most optimal results, you can pair them with other Augustinus Bader products. There is a noticeable difference when I am using an all Augustinus Bader routine versus when I just use one product from the range with other skincare products. However, if you want this product to be your first dip into the brand, this serum will work just as well with products from other brands. 

After the first night of use, my skin looked significantly tighter, plumper, and smoother. It had a very visible glow across my whole complexion. I think what you're wondering is, "Are the results significantly different from when you use the cream alone"? After the first night of use, there is not a significant difference in results but there is a noticeable difference. I definitely noticed that my skin looked much firmer and tighter. There's this smoothness across my complexion that's hard to explain. It's a very slick and smooth look, very glass-like! 

As I continued to use this serum throughout the week, the tightening, plumping, smoothing effect is intensified. This serum really plumps out lines and wrinkles. It significantly increases your skin's elasticity and suppleness! It makes you want to run your hands across your skin and poke at it because your skin just bounces back happily and healthily! 

After four days of continuous use, it's like a switch was flipped and my skin dramatically changed! I awoke with the SOFTEST and smoothest skin! I was honestly shocked at how soft my skin felt and as I ran my fingers across my skin, I felt a lot of resistance or bounce-back from my skin. What I mean by this is that the elasticity in my skin had vastly increased and my skin felt significantly firmer! When I was cleansing my face that morning, while I was massaging my face, I could see and feel my skin bouncing back so strongly! My smile lines looked practically non-existent, which is one of my insecurities as I age. 

Day five, I observed that the texture of my skin is so refined and smooth! What I mean by a refined texture is that my skin looked really flawless and seamless with no enlarged pores, no texture, no lines, or crack in my skin! It is the kind of texture that give your skin that "glass-skin" look and with the addition of the glow, my skin really did look like glass! I kept thinking to myself during the day "Wow! It looks like I'm wearing highlighter at the top of my cheekbones but that was just my moisturizer reflecting off of my really flawless looking skin! 

ONE WEEK RESULTS 

After a week of use, there are very obvious permanent improvements to my skin. My skin looks so much smoother, tighter, and firmer! If you're looking for a real glass skin finish to your skin, look no further. If you consistently use this serum, you will get that glass-skin look because of how smooth, tight, and glowing your skin will appear. What impresses me most about this formula is ow firm and elastic my skin feels and look. It feels like any time I emote, raise my brows, or move my face, my skin just bounces back to it's firm and perky self! It's almost like botox for the face but instead of freezing your muscles, it just really really tightens the skin! 

Honestly, I was very impressed going into my second week of use with this serum. I can only see my skin improving further; however, I don't think my skin has much more improvement to go since I am using this serum more for prevention than correction. Still, I have see so much improvement and correction in my skin that I am over the moon with this serum! I had fine lines but they seemed to have diminished greatly and some of them seemingly have completely plumped out! 

At three weeks now using this serum, I will say that it is potent and you don't have to use it daily to achieve glowing results! Since it is such a pricey serum, I've backed off from using it daily and instead, use it a few times a week. Every time I use it, I notice my skin is significantly firmer, elastic, and glowing! It's really helped me maintain a glass-skin look to my complexion and helped me reduce my fine lines significantly! This serum really feels like it does it all! It works as an smoothing, softening, anti-aging, and radiance-boosting serum!

Since the Victoria Beckham Beauty Cell Rejuvenating Power Serum (full review here) was developed by Augustinus Bader, it is only appropriate to compare the two. 

Price 

The Victoria Beckham Beauty Cell Rejuvenating Power Serum retails $210.00 USD for 30ml . 

The Augustinus Bader The Serum is $350.00 for 30ml (this is the price without the serum holder, just the serum cartridge). 

Packaging 

The Victoria Beckham Beauty Cell Rejuvenating Power Serum comes in a small glass bottle with a dropper attached to the bottle. The dropper has a soft tip so, you can squeeze the serum out. It is a cool concept if you actually only needed a few drops of serum but I find that you need at least a nickel-sized amount and it can be very annoying to try and drop that amount out. Also, the glass bottle is not travel-friendly. 

The Augustinus Bader The Serum comes in a sleek pump tube, which is much preferred for dispensing product. You can really control how much product you want very easily. My biggest gripe with the packaging, as you probably already know by now, is all the excess and wasteful packaging. The aluminum casing and the glass holder are very unnecessary! However, this packaging is much more travel-friendly.

The Victoria Beckham Beauty Cell Rejuvenating Power Serum is a viscous and translucent formula that quickly absorbs into the skin. You need quite a lot of serum to cover the face and neck, more than a nickel-sized amount. This formula works well with all skincare products, not just AB skincare but it works even better with AB skincare.

Results 

The Victoria Beckham Beauty Cell Rejuvenating Power Serum delivers significantly smoother and softer skin. It refines texture and increases elasticity. It also helps plump out lines and hydrates the skin. You will see some results immediately but the biggest difference is after one week of use. 

The Augustinus Bader The Serum also delivers significantly smoother and softer skin. It refines texture and increases elasticity. It helps plump out lines but it also firms the skin so significantly that no matter how much you move your skin, it bounces right back. The increase in elasticity is very significant and noticeable within less than a week and is only increased over time. 

With both immediate results and faster long-term results, this serum formula is significantly more potent than the VBB serum. It should be no surprise that the Augustinus Bader formula is more powerful than the VBB because I can't imagine Augustinus Bader giving VBB all his best work when it comes to formulating. I do believe that The Serum is significantly better because Augustinus Bader has put in all his knowledge and best work to produce the very best serum he can create. 

FINAL THOUGHTS 

I can't emphasize how much I dislike the excessive packaging that comes with this serum. It's so incredibly unnecessary and I find all this excess packaging useless. I don't need something to hold my little bottle of serum! I love the little luxuries that come with purchasing luxury beauty but I absolutely hate wastefulness and I can't imagine something more wasteful than the serum "holder" or packaging included with the full set package. I HIGHLY recommend this serum but I also HIGHLY recommend purchasing only the serum without the rest of the packaging. 

The serum itself is ridiculously expensive but I really do think it is well worth it! For the longest time, I felt like most serums were glorified garbage because I never saw results but with this serum, I saw immediate results and they just continued to get better as I continued to use it. If you find that you don't notice a difference when using your serum, it's time to find a serum that works. This one really does work! Augustinus Bader has continued to impress me with this ability to create such potent and phenomenal formulas. This serum is like botox in a bottle and it really firms, lifts, increases elasticity! In fact, I don't know a serum that does these things as well as this one! This serum delivers a truly luscious glass-skin finish to the skin! This serum has me mesmerized every time I catch a glimpse of my skin in the mirror. I just can't stop staring at its glossy and healthy glow!

This is another miracle elixir from Augustinus Bader! I can't sing its praises enough! This is by far the best serum I have ever tried! I know it is crazy expensive but I really do believe it is worth it. I'm curious to see if the brand will offer smaller sizes in the future but I wouldn't wait for that. This is one serum that your need right now!
