| Review | Saie Sun Melt Natural Cream Bronzer
Cream bronzers are growing in popularity and they started to infiltrate the clean beauty market! It's an exciting time to shop for bronzers. I have always been a big fan of cream bronzers and I knew I couldn't pass up picking this latest launch. On my never-ending quest for glow, a cream bronzer is always in my routine and after using some of Saie Beauty's other glowy offerings like, the Dew Blush (review here) and the Slip Tint Dewy Tinted Moisturizer (review here), I couldn't resist a cream bronzer to complete my look.
The Saie Sun Melt Natural Cream Bronzer retails for $28.00 and is available at Sephora and other retailers. This cream bronzer is packaged in a simple frosted plastic jar with a black lid. It is very reminiscent of the Chanel Soleil de Tan packaging but smaller and not as chunky. The slimmer profile of this bronzer makes the jar easy to store and travel with.
SHADES
This cream bronzer currently comes in four shades, which isn't the most expansive shade range but these are bronzers and I think four shades with the right formula can cover a wide range of skin tones. I was torn on the right shade to choose and when I am torn, I often find the best solution is to lean on the lighter side. I like the tone of these bronzers because they don't lean too warm or orange. The tones are flattering for all skin tones without being really cool. When I want a bronzer, I want a warm shade and I love the tone of this one.
Light Bronze - This shade is a light warm golden bronze. This bronzer has a true golden tone, which adds warmth to the skin without looking orange or too warm on the complexion.

FORMULA
This bronzer starts out quite sheer but is very buildable. This sheer formula makes the bronzer extremely versatile and allows it to suit a wide range of skin tones. While I normally recommend choosing a slightly lighter shade and building your bronzer, in this case, you can go darker without the repercussions of having a muddy or orange bronzer look. The “natural” part in the name of this product is very true, due to the sheerness of this formula. You really get the most natural looks even when you heavily layer product on your skin! The formula really does melt into your skin and leave it with a very natural and healthy bronze glow!
The texture was quite surprising to me considering, the appearance of the bronzer. The texture in the pot looks very soft and velvety. I thought I was going to get this creamy and velvety mousse texture but it’s actually a balmy texture. This isn’t a bad thing, it’s just a little misleading considering the way the product looks. I think someone who is looking for a matte or satin bronzer may think this is the one but it’s far from it.
The balm is sheer and thin. It glides on the skin quite easily and leaves an immediate glow. I find the best way to apply this bronzer is with a large dense buffing brush, which is available through the brand, the Saie The Big Buffing Bronzer Brush. I considered picking this up but I do own quite a few similar brushes already. Now, I like this style of bush for the application, I would not recommend a "buffing" motion because it will move your base around underneath. I found the best application is using a tapping technique to get the most pigment and the most seamless application. I also find that this formula applies really well with fingers, using the same tapping motion. You can "buff" but it's best to only buff the edges lightly to blend the balm.
Although it is a balm texture, it doesn’t leave the skin feeling sticky or tacky, like a face gloss. It has a very smooth and thin texture that glides onto the skin and blends out effortlessly. It doesn’t require much pressure to blend the product and therefore, doesn’t lift the base you have underneath. It creates a very seamless bronze glow on the complexion.
The finish is very glowy and borderline dewy. This is the finish I love and expect from a cream bronzer so, I am very pleased with how this bronzer looks on the skin! The fresh glow will make any complexion look really healthy and luminous. Even over a more matte base, this will add a glow on top. This is probably not the ideal bronzer for an oily skin type because it has so much glow to it. This product definitely has a bit kore glow than pigment, which isn’t for everyone. Personally, I love it! It suits my dry skin and my makeup aesthetic.
This balmy bronzer has a surprisingly decent wear time. I find that it starts to fade a bit into the fifth hour but can wear up to eight hours very nicely. When it comes to cream products, I don’t expect a long wear time because it’s more about achieving that texture on the skin than it is about long-lasting pigment. For every day, I think this bronzer is beautiful and I will be reaching for it regularly.
COMPARISON SWATCHES
This formula is a bit similar to the Fenty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer in Macchiato and the Soleil de Tan de Chanel. All these formulas are balmy, have a slightly glossy finish, and are warm bronzers. I will also swatch this formula next to Tarte SEA Breezy Cream Bronzer (full review here), NARS Sunkissed Bronzing Cream (full review here), and the Sol Body Face & Body Bronzing Balm.
THE LOOK
You can see that the look of this bronzer is very natural and even in photos, it has a subtle effect. The bronzer is very fool-proof and glowing.
FINAL THOUGHTS
This bronzer formula is very unique! I haven’t come across a formula quite as balmy and dewy as this one. The nice part is that it doesn’t look greasy or feel sticky or tacky on the skin! It really blends into the skin seamlessly, effortlessly, and leaves the skin with a healthy glow! The shade range has a really nice tone to all the bronzers that won’t give you an orange look. I really love the texture of this cream bronzer because it gives you the color of a cream bronzer but the finish of a glossy balm. While the wear time will vary depending on your skin type, I find that this formula lasts quite well on the skin. I really think you get the best of both worlds with this formula, pigment, and a nice texture. This is definitely a formula for someone who loves a GLOW and it really delivers that GLOW! If you're looking for something similar to the Chanel Soleil de Tan but with a wider shade range, this is a phenomenal option! I highly recommend this cream bronzer formula for the price, shade range, and formula, you really can't go wrong!
