| Review | Saie Dew Blush Liquid Cheek Blush
Fresh, minimal makeup is trending and it's such an approachable way to wear makeup that everyone can get on board. New blush formulas are always so intriguing and I just love anything dewy. A dewy blush is always welcome in my routine and this new minimalist brand has piqued my curiosity for a while. Liquid blushes aren't as common but they are becoming an increasingly popular formula, Saie's take seems like something that speaks to me much more than others I have tried.
The Saie Dew Blush Liquid Cheek Blush retails for $22.00 USD and is available at Sephora. This blush is housed in a soft frosted clear plastic bottle with a large doe-foot applicator. This is a pretty typical applicator for this type of formula. The size of the doe-foot applicator doesn't affect much because these aren't used for actual application but more as a means to get the product out of the tube, which it does well. You can't blend or get a precise application using just the doe-foot applicator. The packaging is simple, minimalistic, and chic.
SHADES
This liquid blush range currently only comes in 4 shades that are designed to suit a range of skin tones. I would personally love to see more shades because I don't think this range covers everyone's skin tones and makeup preferences. As a medium skin tone, I think I could wear any of these shades but I think deeper skin tones will only be able to wear the deepest berry shade and I think there will be some deep skin tones that will not even be able to wear the berry because it leans on the lighter side. The shades I chose are:
Peachy - This shade is a light creamy peach shade. This shade is warm but leans quite neutral compared to the peach shades. While a light shade, this shade should be suitable for fair to tan skin tones. Some deeper skin tones may be able to use this as a very subtle blush.
Rosy - This shade is a neutral creamy rose shade, which is very versatile and should suit fair to deep skin tones. While it looks like it is on the lighter side, it doesn't have a pastel base, so it suits many skin tones without looking stark and unnatural.

FORMULA
This liquid formula is quite pigmented and you only need a few small drops to add a fresh flush to the complexion. The liquid formula isn't runny but it is reminiscent of the texture of ink. The formula blends out nicely and it has a very buildable pigment. I recommend applying small drops, blending, and layering on more to get to your desired intensity. The color stays very true to what appears in the tube and the pigment shows up very well on the skin. I think deeper skin tones can even wear the lighter shades if you just layer more product on.
This formula can be beautifully layered or mixed together for a custom blush shade. I find that this formula applies really well with fingers or a brush. I like using a small stippling brush to distribute the blush but a fluffier synthetic blush brush will work too.
The formula doesn't dry down so, you don't have to worry about working quickly. The finish is dewy and fresh but not glossy or wet. It's a true fresh glow without adding too much texture to the surface of the skin. This makes this formula very versatile and suitable for more skin types because it doesn't make the skin look too glossy or borderline greasy. It reminds me of the finish of cream blush but it also doesn't sit on top skin as much as a cream blush, it blends into the skin and doesn't feel tacky on the skin.
This liquid blush formula lasts a shockingly long time on the skin! I found that by the end of an 8 hour day, the blush was lightly faded but still very apparent on my skin! That is very impressive! I have tried many cream and liquid blushes but this is one of the most long-lasting especially, for the dewy finish that it offers. I love that I can still see this bush on my skin at the end of the day and even if it has faded it looks very even and smooth! I'm very impressed with the wear of this formula!
THE LOOK
You can see how fresh and dewy these blushes look on the skin. I applied the blush onto a fresh foundation that I didn't set. I didn't apply a highlighter but you can still see how much glow this formula offers.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I'm so in love with this beautiful liquid blush formula! It has an impressive wear time and a stunning dewy finish. You normally can't get both of these in one blush but this formula does it all! The pigment is rich and vibrant but still very buildable. This formula is just so easy to work with, which is kind of rare for a liquid blush because you really have to have the perfect consistency and pigment. This is a formula that I enjoy using with both fingers and brushes. The formula is so thoughtfully composed and the shades really can work on all skin tones! This is a formula that I have been enjoying so much and that I reach for every day! When you have a massive collection but continue to reach for the same product every day, you know it's a good product. The wear time is incredible for the fresh and dewy texture, which makes it a huge winner in my book! I would love to see a shade expansion from the brand, maybe some more vibrant shades and maybe some with a little bit of shimmer too! This is a brand that has been surpassing my expectations so far and I look forward to seeing more products from them!
