| Review | Colourpop Jelly Much Shadows
Colourpop has once again come out with a fun and exciting new formula for eyeshadows! Their ever-popular Super Shock Shadows was the innovative the brand is known for but could this new formula beat those shadows out? I was immediately drawn to this new jelly formula because it is very reminiscent of the Tom Ford Cream Color for eyes when I first saw the Colourpop teaser video. With such a reasonable price a beautiful shade range, I thought I'd try them out to see if they come close to my beloved Tom Ford shadows.
The Colourpop Jelly Much Shadows retail for $8.00 USD and are available at Colourpop. These
jelly textured shadows are housed in a plastic jar with a twist off cap. Pretty standard for any cream-type shadow. Included in the packaging is an extra plastic cover inside the jar to seal the jelly shadow and prevent it from drying out. This jelly shadow is an amazing value for the price! For $8.00, you receive 6.5g of product!
SHADES
The Jelly Much Shadows come in 8 different shades with metallic and duochrome finishes. I chose 4 of the shades:
Ventura - This is a white with a strong lavender duochrome. While this shade is very sheer, the lavender is very strong and really creates an intense pop.
Short Circuit - This shade is a coppery bronze metallic color.
Once & Floral - This shade is a unique reddish-pink with an amber-golden duochrome.
Half Moon - This shade is a unique plummy-purple with a blue-green duochrome reflect.
FORMULA & WEAR
These shadows are actually quite similar to the Tom Ford shadows in texture however, the finishes are more metallic than the Tom Ford. The Tom Ford cream shadows have a glossier finish to them and they don't dry down, which means they have a little more movement and are more prone to creasing. I find the Colourpop Jelly Much shadows set after a couple minutes so they last much longer even without a primer. I find that my shadow lasts beyond 8 hours without a primer and it doesn't have any signs of fading or creasing! The Colourpop formula is supposed to contain about 90% water and you can really tell because it is very cooling and feels wet on the lids, quite different from the Tom Ford, which is creamier.
APPLICATION
Like the Tom Ford cream shadows, these are very pigmented and a little bit of product will spread out quickly, covering a large area. I recommend working slowly and with little product in order to get precision application. These will blend out easily and spread quickly. While you can use your fingers for application, I would only recommend use this application if you want an all-over application because it lacks precision. I think the best application method is with a brush, synthetic or natural hair, touching in the area where you want the most pigment first and placing the color. Colourpop recommends waiting a bit for the product to start to set before blending however, I have had no problems blending immediately. When you blend the product, you obviously only want to blend the edges to avoid blending away the product, especially if the shadow hasn't set yet.
FINAL THOUGHTS
These shadows work very well over one another, as well as, over and under powder shadows! I am so insanely impressed with this formula! These are so pigmented, creamy, and the finishes are stunning! My favorite shade of the four that I bought is Half Moon, it is just so unique and looks so complex. You can really play up the purple or go a bit more neutral with some warm browns or burgundies. I really love all of these colors but I just find this shade to be the most unique. I love how the formula is easy to use and once it sets, it stays until you remove it. The intensity is always strong and doesn't fade throughout the day. I honestly can't say enough great things about this formula, especially for the super affordable price! These really remind me of the Tom Ford but they have a bit more of a gel texture. For the price, you really can't go wrong with these! You get so much product but you need so little to accomplish your look. I really am OBSESSED with these and I think everyone needs to try one of these!

This first look (above) I used all the Jelly Much shadows. I used Short Circuit in the crease and Once and Floral in the deeper part of my crease. I used Half Moon on the inner and outer corner and Ventura as a pop in the center. While this look was pretty, I think having all metallic finishes on my eyes lacks complexity. I prefer mixing these shadows with the Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadows, the matte ones.
This second look (the three images above) I used some of the Colourpop Matte Pressed Shadows in my crease and outer corner and ford the lid I used New Moon. For the inner corner I used Ventura. I really love this look but unfortunately, the photos aren't great.
This third look (the three images above) I also used some Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadows for the crease and a bit on the outer corner over Once and Floral, my main outer corner shade. Short Circuit was used all over the middle to inner corner of the lid.

I am so curious about these shadows!!! I really wanted to try them out but, I need to be careful regarding ordering Colourpop since I live in Europe.
