| Review | Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation
I can't resist a glowing foundation and while I haven't been gravitating toward Chanel makeup in a while, this foundation intrigued me too much to pass up! As part of the Les Beiges Healthy Glow range, this foundation is meant to look natural and fresh, while being long-wearing, which is something we could all use in our day to day lives.
The Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation retails for $60.00 and is available at Chanel. This foundation has a beautiful rounded rectangular bottle with a cap with the Les Beiges iconic Chanel beige logo. The bottle has a pump, which perfectly dispenses the foundation and allows you to control the amount being dispensed. The glass bottle has a nice heavy and luxurious feeling in your hands.
SHADES
This foundation comes in 35 shades, which for a luxury brand is HUGE! I applaud Chanel for offering an extensive shade range that covers a pretty large spectrum of skin tones. I used my color match for one of my old favorite Chanel foundations, the Vitalumiere Aqua. There are three undertones yellow/golden undertone (BD), neutral beige (B), and pink/cool undertone (BR).
My color is B40, which may seem a bit strange because in the bottle it appears to be a bit light and beige for my skin. However, this formula does oxidize a bit and becomes a bit warmer on the skin. I actually prefer a neutral tone because yellow tones often look too yellow on me and it doesn't blend in seamlessly.

FORMULA
This foundation is quite pigmented but it still looks and feels very light. With one pump, you'll get a medium-full coverage and the coverage is very buildable. You can keep layering until you reach full coverage easily but it won't look heavy at all on the skin. I prefer a pump and a half when I want full coverage and if I want it sheerer, I'll mix in some moisturizer.
The formula just glides onto the skin and it blends out so quickly and seamlessly. It takes very little effort to cover and perfect the complexion. I find that I only need to lightly tap and swipe to smooth the foundation over the skin. The foundation beautifully covers pigmentation and imperfections without emphasizing texture or pores.
The finish is very fresh and natural with a soft dewy luminosity. The glow of this foundation isn't so dewy that it looks wet on the skin, it just looks like very healthy and hydrated skin. The light-reflecting technology in this foundation truly helps blur out imperfections and smooths out the appearance of texture on the skin. I think this kind of finish will suit most skin types but those who will enjoy it the most will have normal to dry skin. I can see more oily skin types enjoying this foundation if a primer is used underneath and a bit of powder is used to set the foundation.
This foundation does not set down and will remain a bit wet on the skin so, expect a bit of transfer if you don't set the foundation. I often don't set my foundation and I found this foundation to last me beyond eight hours but I do notice some bits of oil peeking out throughout the day when I choose not to set my foundation. This foundation does not claim to control for oil so, if you have a tendency to get oily throughout the day, you may want to use a primer and powder.
This foundation does have the iconic fresh fragrance that many of their foundations and products have. I don't find it overwhelming and I find it very appealing. It's also fleeting and you won't be smelling it throughout the day. However, those who have skin sensitivities to fragrances may want to be wary about this formula. This formula actually reminds me of the Vitalumiere Foundation formula but so much better because it has better coverage, applies more evenly, and offers a more natural dewy finish.
THE LOOK
This is a pump and a half of the foundation applied all over the face and is not set with powder. You can see the impressive amount of coverage and the luminous glow it offers all over the skin.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I didn't really know what to expect from this foundation but it really impressed me! I was not expecting such a full coverage but I welcomed it because it still looked so natural and fresh on the skin! You often don't find foundations that offer both a glowing finish and full coverage but this one made it possible and looks incredible! I think the extensive shade range with multiple undertones is amazing and will suit so many skin tones. I think this is the most impressive part of this foundation because so many luxury foundations lack shades to suit many skin tones. With such heavy coverage, you would want an accurate shade match and I believe most people will find a match in this range.
The glow associated with this foundation is perfect in my opinion. I think it is perfectly dewy and fresh but also healthy and not over the top. It truly looks just like very healthy skin and naturally fresh skin. I think for a dewy foundation, this formula has an excellent wear time. I haven't purchased a Chanel foundation in quite some time and I am so impressed with this latest formula! It really makes me want to go back to the brand and explore more base products from them. I remember being a fan of their foundations but I feel like their formulation have gotten so much better! I highly recommend checking out this formula! This is one of the best looking and feeling full coverage foundation I have come across. With such a large shade range, there will be a shade for everyone.

How does it compare to Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk?
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa! The Chanel Healthy Glow foundation is much more luminous and dewy compare to the Armani Luminous Silk. The Luminous Silk has a softer and more natural, skin-like finish. I hope this helps!
