Minimalist beauties rejoice! Your no-makeup makeup dreams are coming true! Actually, this sheer skin tint isn’t a far reach from the Chanel Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint (full review here). However, if you’re looking for a more affordable option, you might want to keep reading. As far as celebrity-owned beauty brands go, Rose Inc. isn’t one you should turn away from because it’s celebrity-owned. Rosie Huntington-Whitely has actually been demonstrating her passion for beauty for years on her YouTube channel, posting videos of her makeup and skincare. When I first saw she was coming out with a range, I was annoyed because of course, every celebrity is coming out with a beauty range but it made a little more sense that she would. The brand has actually been getting a lot of love from the beauty community but the product that really drew me in was this skin tint. 

The ROSE INC Skin Enhance Luminous Skin Tint retails for $49.00 USD for 1oz/30ml and is available at Sephora and other retailers. This skin tint is housed in a softly frosted plastic bottle with a nude pink cap, which suits the Rose Inc. branding. The bottle allows you to see the unique texture of the product and is very minimalistic. The packaging is lightweight and sleek, which makes it great for traveling and storage. I also like the pump packaging, which makes it easy to control the dispensing of the product and keeps the product sanitary. 

SHADES

This formula comes in 14 different shades, which is a pretty small shade range for a base product these days. To be fair the formula is very sheer and you will be able to get away with wearing a shade that is slightly lighter or slightly deeper. Still, it didn't make it easy to select a shade. I agonized over picking a color and I thought I'd just go with the undertone that seems to best match me. So, I went with the shade 60. 

60 - This shade is described as "medium skin tone / neutral", which I would consider a very accurate assessment of the shade. I have a neutral skin tone and the shade suits me nearly perfectly. It doesn't lean too yellow or warm but not too pink. I currently don't have a tan and I'm a light-medium skin tone, about an NC30 in MAC foundations. Again, due to the sheerness of this formula, you can risk going lighter or darker but just makes sure you select the correct undertone because that is going to make the biggest impact when the product is on your skin.

FORMULA 

The texture of this skin tint is incredibly unique. It is a ton of tiny spheres of pigment suspended in a clear gel. As you apply and massage the product onto the skin, the spheres burst and spread pigment across the complexion while the gel creates a dewy and fresh texture across the skin. It's a very unusual texture and the only other product that is quite like it is the Chanel Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint (full review here). These two formulas are practically identical and I will go into the comparison further later. 

Due to the unusual texture, the application is not as easy as you'd expect for such a sheer and light product. I would not recommend a sponge, as this formula is a very light water-based formula and will get almost completely sucked into the sponge. Also, you need the means to break open the spheres of pigment to achieve some coverage. While many people don't recommend using your fingers, I don't think it's a bad option. In fact, I think it may be one of my favorite ways to apply this skin tint! I have done this many times and your fingers are amazing for breaking open the pearls, as you continue to massage the product into the skin, it will provide more coverage and even coverage across the skin. I also really like applying this product with a very dense buffing brush by stippling and buffing the product onto the skin. Keep in mind, that the brush will absorb a decent amount of the product. If you feel like you're not getting enough coverage, you can layer on more product. 

Keep in mind that this formula is extremely sheer! It isn't designed to provide a lot of coverage hence, the "tint" in the name of the product. It is a very light serum-like texture that leaves a very thin and very sheer veil of color and texture on the skin. This product will only reduce the appearance of redness and lightly blur imperfections but the coverage is extremely sheer and it will not cover any redness or major imperfections on the skin. I recommend if you want more coverage, apply concealer first and cover your imperfections. Then, go in with the skin tint to add a more general veil of coverage and a dewy texture to the complexion. This is my preferred method of applying and using a product as sheer as this because the real benefit it provides is its texture. 

The texture that it provides to the skin is a very dewy and fresh finish, which is a very unique and very desirable finish. What I love about this product and the Chanel version is that it delivers this dewy texture that I have not been able to achieve with other products. It is a very juicy, plump, and glass-like finish to the skin. If you're looking for a sheer foundation, this is probably not the product for you but if you're looking for a sheer glow, then you're going to really enjoy this product. You're probably thinking "If this product doesn't provide any coverage, then what's the point?" and my response is "It provides something much more unique, which is a desirable and healthy finish to the skin. You can get coverage from other foundations and concealers but this finish is unique!"

So, again, I urge you to give this product a shot if you love a dewy and fresh glow to your skin because this will deliver that to you quickly and if you need the coverage, then apply concealer underneath and preserve the beautiful glow that this tint will provide you. 

COMPARISON 

Here's a brief overview of how the ROSE INC formula compares to the Chanel Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint formula. Overall, they are very similar but have very subtle differences. They really could be used interchangeably and most likely no one would know the difference when looking at your complexion. Per request, I am also comparing the Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint, which is also a similar very sheer skin tint.

FINAL THOUGHTS 

This formula is definitely not for everyone. The formula is so sheer and light that many people won't see the point of owning a formula like this but the real beauty of this product is not in the coverage but in the texture it provides to your complexion. There's a unique juicy glow that this product provides the skin that makes the skin look so naturally healthy! Also, if you hate the feeling of base makeup on the skin, this product feels like nothing on the skin! I find myself reaching for this formula quite often because it is just so easy to use and it gives me the perfect amount of coverage I want for every day. Plus, it feels so comfortable and fresh on the skin. This is a great affordable option over the Chanel Water Fresh Tint. Admittedly, I still like the channel one better because it gives me a juicy and plumper finish to my skin but this formula provides just a bit more coverage. This is still a formula I really love and I will definitely be repurchasing! I highly recommend it for anyone who loves a really sheer natural coverage and a dewy finish to the skin! This really is no-makeup makeup at its finest!
