This formula is great for everyone, from skilled makeup artists to less skilled amateurs. It's nice to see the brand bring about a unique formula to the overly saturated industry. These liquid eyeshadows are a luxurious formula that coats the lids in a glittering veil of color.

The Lisa Eldridge Liquid Lurex Eyeshadow retails for $27.00 USD and is available at Lisa Eldridge. These eyeshadows have a simple, sleek, and compact clear tube with a doe-foot applicator. The flat applicator with a rounded tip allows for a nice application of the liquid eyeshadow. The flat shape allows you to pack on the product and easily spread it across the lid. You will still need to use a brush or a finger to blend the eyeshadow. I love the compact packaging for traveling with and it is very easy to store.

SHADES

This eyeshadow range currently comes in five shades, which is very reasonable for a first launch. I am sure if the formula is popular enough, the shades will be expanded. The shade range is a really lovely mix of warm and cool shades. All the shades are also universally flattering for all skin tones. Not officially stated on the site but stated by Lisa, herself, there are two shades that come off as "true metallics", whereas the other shades are more of a sparkling shadow. These eyeshadows are truly multi-dimensional and unique!

The shades I chose were:

Anjelica - This shade is a silvery lilac-pink loaded with silver sparkle.

FORMULA

This unique liquid eyeshadow formula starts out sheer with very light pigment and mostly the shimmering reflects. This also depends on how much product you apply to the eyes, the more you apply, the more opaque it will appear. However, if you are trying to apply the product precisely, it will be sheer and you will need to build the pigment up. Luckily, the formula builds up really well! It's a very versatile formula that can go from sheer to opaque or even vice versa.

This formula works best when you layer thin and light layers of the eyeshadow. The great thing about this formula is that it doesn't feel heavy or thick even when you apply more product. It also doesn't crack or chip off the eyes after it dries. The formula is like a hybrid between a liquid and a cream. It applies like a very thin cream but it also dries down and doesn't remain emollient on the lids.

The applicator is a nice long and relatively thin and flat with a rounded tip, which allows you to use multiple sides to apply the product. This applicator isn't ideal for all forms of application but it is very versatile and allows you to place the eyeshadow but it's not great for blending or precision applications. I only use the applicator to lay down large amounts of eyeshadow then, I will go in with another brush to blend the eyeshadow. If I want a more precise application, I will use the brush of my choice to pick up product from the applicator and apply it in a precise manner.

I have used this eyeshadow all over the lid, layered with one another, and even used it as an eyeliner. The formula is very versatile and can be used with other creams, liquid, or powder eyeshadows. The eyeshadows have a metallic or sparkling glitter finish. The glitters in the eyeshadows are extremely fine and you don't feel them on the skin at all. They offer a beautiful twinkling effect to the eyes that looks beautiful but doesn't emphasize texture.

This formula really lasts on the skin! It wore seamlessly for over eight hours without a primer and it didn't crease at all! There are very few cream or liquid eyeshadows that don't crease without a primer. The eyeshadow looks as fresh as it does when I first applied it. The formula is truly effortless, blending out beautifully and evenly. If there is any patchiness from precise applications, it can be patched up easily by layering on more eyeshadow.

THE LOOK

For this look, I used Bianca on the inner two-thirds of the eye. Then, using tape to mark out my wing, I applied Liza to the lash line and into a winged shape. I layered a powder black eyeshadow on top of Liza closest to the lash line for more depth and intensity. I went back in and layered on more Liza to create more smokiness and blend it in seamlessly with the other eyeshadow. I also applied a soft warm matte brown eyeshadow to the crease for more dimension, smokiness, and depth. I really loved how this look turned out! I wore it to a small holiday get-together and it looked incredible. You can definitely tone these down by steering them out and using less intense eyeshadows with them.

FINAL THOUGHTS

While many brands make a similar product, there's something special about the Lisa Eldridge formulation. It is the complexity of the shades and reflects that make these so unique but also, the way they wear on the eyes is special. These don't dry down and look dry and crusty on the eyes. It dries down but the formula is flexible with the eyes even though it is very long-wearing! This is one of the few liquid eyeshadows that really look almost wet on the eyes but don't have a wet texture. These are very easy to layer, build, and use with other products. They look very expensive and sophisticated on the eyes. I think the performance and wear of these eyeshadows are just exceptional and well worth the price! I would love to see a shade extension from the brand soon! I highly recommend these versatile sparkling eyeshadows!
