| Review | Em Cosmetics So Soft Blush & Multi Faceplay 

Em Cosmetics is jumping on the cream cheek trend with its own unique formulation! The brand has always done cheek and complexion products so well and I have high hopes for this new formula. This formula seems to cater to a wider variety of skin types and has a unique finish. With so many cream cheek products on the market, how does this one compare? Read on to find out. 

The Em Cosmetics So Soft Blush & Multi Faceplay Bronze + Sculpt retail for $30.00 USD and is available at Em Cosmetics. These cream cheek products are housed in a short and compact twist-up stick. The packaging is made of very lightweight plastic that is thin but doesn't feel cheap. It's functional packaging for traveling. The soft matte finish of the packaging reflects the soft finish of the product contained inside. 

SHADES 

Currently, the So Soft Blushes come 6 shades in and Multi Faceplay Bronze + Sculpt comes in 4 shades. The blushes collection has a good range of wearable shades that will suit a wide range of skin tones. I am sure this shade range will be expanded in the future or at least, I hope so. I definitely believe that the Faceplay Bronze + Sculpt range needs a shade expansion because there is really only one warm-toned shade, the lightest shade in the range, which isn't enough to cover all skin tones. The other shades all lean quite cool, which for sculpting works but it doesn't work for bronzing. These are the shades I purchased:

Pearl Tea - This shade is a soft neutral with a peach tone, it is a beautiful neutral tone with just a touch of warmth. This nude blush shade will suit many skin tones and this shade will best suit fair to medium skin tones. It is a very unique and very well composed neutral blush shade. I have not seen many brands successfully create a true neutral blush but this one is practically perfect! This is probably my most used shade of the ones I own. 

So Soft Blush in Pearl Tea

Lychee - This shade is a soft rosy peach shade that leans quite pastel. While pigmented, this shade is quite light and will only really suit light to medium skin tones. It's a very flattering version of a light pink shade, which can tend to look stark on many skin tones.

Venetian Rose - This shade is a beautiful and rich medium mauve shade. This shade has a very neutral undertone, which makes it easy to wear for all skin tones. This rich shade will suit fair to deep skin tones. This shade offers a natural flush to the skin and makes it flattering for just about any look you'd want to pair with it.

Faceplay Bronze + Sculpt

Summer - This shade is a warm creamy medium bronze shade that isn't too warm and has an overall neutral tone. The neutral tone prevents the bronzer from looking too warm and orange, which is unappealing for a bronzer. This bronzer shade is incredibly flattering for a wide range of skin tones. This shade will work best for fair to light tan skin tones. This is the only warm shade of the bronzer range at the moment and it is so beautifully done, I would love to see more warm shades.

FORMULA 

This formula is very aptly named because it is actually SO SOFT! The see cream sticks feel super creamy and soft, like a lightly melted lipstick or something. As soon as you touch them to the skin, you can feel the soft and ultra-creamy texture. You only barely need to graze this stick on the skin because it is so insanely pigmented! One swipe and you'll get all the color you will need. I recommend applying very little at first and building the color because the pigmentation is so rich and the formula is so creamy that it spreads quite easily. 

Since the formula is so creamy, it takes very little effort to blend out. You only need to barely graze the skin with a brush, your fingers, or a sponge. I prefer using a brush to blend out this product because I feel like you get more precision and with such a pigmented product, precision is key. You really don't want these products blended out too far and into areas, you didn't intend for it to go. 

While these products are quite emollient, they still maintain their soft satin finish, which is ideal for a wide variety of skin types. This soft satin finish looks really natural on all skin types and it looks universally flattering on everyone. The natural finish doesn't enhance texture or lines on the skin and it blends beautifully into the texture of the skin. From dry to oily skin types, this cream formula will look flattering and well quite well on all skin types. 

This formula wears well for how emollient this formula is. You can expect about five to eight hours of wear out of this formula, depending on your skin type. Since it is so emollient, there is a higher chance of movement and transfer. You may need to be careful when you chat on the phone or touch your face in any way. 

THE LOOK

You can see this formula looks very natural on the skin because of the soft and creamy finish. It really blends into the skin seamlessly. I am wearing the Faceplay Bronze + Sculpt in Summer and the So Soft Blush in Pearl Tea.

FINAL THOUGHTS 

This unique formula is very aptly named because the formula is incredibly soft and emollient. This makes it easy to blend and apply on the skin, despite any texture on the skin. This formula is versatile and universally flattering. The only real downside may be how emollient this formula is because it has a tendency for movement and transferring. Other than that, this formula is really beautiful and enjoyable to use! My only real complaint is that I would like to see more shades in both the bronzer and blush range. There really only seems to be one warm shade for bronzer options and the other shades seem to be all for sculpting. I think it would be nice to offer more warm toned options for various skin tones. I think formula is really beautiful for all skin types and highly recommend it!
