| Review | Hermès Rose Hermès - Silky Blush Powder

One of the most anticipated luxury beauty launches this year, these Hermès blushes, have caught the attention of beauty lovers everywhere. Based on my experience with their beautiful lipsticks, I knew I had to try these luxurious blushes out! As a cheek product collector, I have high expectations and high standards for what makes an exceptional blush. I hope for the high price tag, this formula will be worth it.

The Hermès Rose Hermès - Silky Blush Powder retails for $77.00 USD and is available at Nordstrom and other retailers. These luxurious blushes are housed in a sleek and slim compact. The compact is small and fits really well in the palm of my small hands. The packaging is slightly disappointing because while the base feels a bit weighted, the top of the compact feels almost hollow.

It feels light and cheap for a luxury product, which is a shame because it's so pricey. Also, it is a little bit shocking considering their lip products feel so luxurious. The compact is magnetic, which I really love because it makes it feel more high quality but I still want a heavier and heftier compact. These pans are supposed to be refillable by using a pin to push out the pan from the back.

SHADES

This range currently contains 8 blush shades, all of which appear light and muted. I just don't see this range being suitable for a deep skin tone. These shades will mostly likely only suit fair to tan skin tones. The lack of shades and variety in this shade range is a little disappointing, especially because the price is so high. With so many brands expanding their shade ranges to be inclusive, it is always shocking to see such a limited shade range. All the shades start with "Rose" but this isn't referring to the color but more that this is the "Rose Collection" because these blushes do have a floral fragrance.

19 Rose Abricot - This shade is a soft, light, and creamy peachy-apricot shade that will suit fair to medium skin tones the best.

45 Rose Ombre - This shade is a cool dusty pink with a mauve undertone that will suit a fair to tan skin tone. This shade is only just slightly cool so, it doesn't look stark or strange on a warm skin tone.

49 Rose Tan - This shade is a beautiful warm peachy-orange tan shade that will suit a fair to deep skin tone. This warm neutral shade is very versatile and will suit any look you want to pair it with.

FORMULA

I'm going to start by saying that I didn't have high hopes for this formula because most designer brands that jump into the beauty scene are doing it for the money but they often don't deliver in quality. Also, blushes tend to be difficult to formulate and I find many blush formulas to be mediocre. These blushes impressed me! They impressed me beyond my expectation for the brand but they impressed me overall as a blush formula in the massive beauty industry!

The texture of these blushes is so smooth, silky, and soft! I was concerned that this formula would look dry and chalky on the skin but these are almost like a powder to cream texture. This powder has a very creamy texture that glides onto the skin effortlessly and blends into the skin seamlessly! These powder blushes look airbrushed on the skin, they look flawless and a part of the skin. Plus, the pigment is really rich and true to the shades in the pan. The shades in the pan translate beautifully onto the skin with a buildable pigment. You don't need much of this blush but it also builds very well to the intensity you desire. What's impressive is that you can build the powder without it looking powdery or dry on the skin!

These blushes have a soft matte or satin finish with no shimmer to them. What appreciate about this finish is that it suits every skin type and doesn't emphasize texture or dryness on the skin. Also, because of the lack of shimmer and the more matte finish, it wears well on oily skin types. I find this formula wears beautifully beyond eight hours on my skin and it doesn't fade or ever look patchy.

One important thing to note is that these have quite a heavy floral fragrance. I really don't understand why you would need to add fragrance to blush, it doesn't make sense to me. Adding fragrance to a product like this doesn't really enhance my experience when using it nor does it make it feel more luxurious. If you have a sensitivity to fragrances, I would be careful around these blushes.

THE LOOK

This is what the blush looks like on the cheeks. I am wearing bronzer, fairly heavily here (sorry about that). I am also wearing Rose Tan blush on the apples on my cheeks. On my lips is the Hermès Rose Hermès - Tinted Lip Enhancer Balm in Rose Tan (full review here).

FINAL THOUGHTS

I'm beyond impressed with this formula! I haven't found a powder formula that fuses so seamlessly with the skin before! This formula doesn't sit on the skin like most powder blushes, it becomes part of the skin. This creamy powder is so incredibly unique, it feels almost like a cream blush. You can just continue to build this powder blush on the cheeks and it never looks powdery, emphasizes texture, or sits on top of the skin. It really becomes a seamless part of the skin, which impresses me so much! This formula is truly the epitome of luxury and quality. I have tried many blushes from brands high and low but this one is noticeably superior to any of the blushes I have tried. While expensive, I think these are well worth the cost! As long as you don't have a sensitivity to fragrance, I think these are absolutely beautiful. I really can't recommend these enough, I would get the whole range to replace all the blushes in my collection. I really do feel these are worth it and everyone should try at least one of these!
