Bite Beauty Daycation Whipped Cream Blush Review and Swatches

| Review | Bite Beauty Daycation Whipped Cream Blush

New blush formulas have been cropping up everywhere this year and Bite Beauty is also jumping on this trend train! Cream blushes and liquid blushes are trending but Bite is taking it another direction with a whipped cream blush. This modern take on a cream formula is unlike anything I have seen before. I remember when Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Blushes back in the day and that was supposed to be a really innovative formula. Well, this one surpasses our faint memories of mousse blushes.

The Bite Beauty Daycation Whipped Cream Blush retails for $32.00 USD and is available at Sephora and other retailers. These mousse blushes are housed in a unique and small squeezable bottle. These bottles are somewhat flat spherical, pod-like bottles. It has a slick rubbery texture and the bottom half of the bottle is soft and squeezable, which pushes the product out of the fine plastic tip. I love the nude color of the packaging and the unique concept.

The big thing that concerns me is when the bottle becomes more empty. Will I be able to get every last drop out of this packaging? I don't know but I hope so. Also, the more I use this packaging, the more I hate it. Due to the odd disc shape of these bottles, you can only really squeeze from the very center and even then, it isn't the easiest to dispense. I suspect that there will be a lot of lost product stuck in the bottle when it starts to empty. In this case, to actually get all the product out, you may need to cut the bottle open.

SHADES

This formula currently comes in only 4 shades, which are designed to suit a wide range of skin tones. All the shades are designed to be suitable for all skin tones and the brand has images of each of the shades on models of different skin tones. I would like to see more shades in this range but I understand that an initial launch always has limited shades.

Coconut Rum - This shade is a warm golden bronze with a barely-there rosy undertone. This shade will suit any skin tone and any look you're going for. It's the perfect summery glow when paired with some bronzer.

Melon Mojito - This shade is a very warm pink with some peachy tones. It almost has a slight rusty tone to it. This shade really brightens up the complexion and makes any skin tone look healthier. It's a very pretty fresh flush for spring and summer.

FORMULA

This formula comes out of the bottle as a whipped cream texture and as you tap, stipple, or blend the product onto the skin, the products melts into the skin, like a liquid formula. It is a very unique and interesting formula. The whipped formula makes this formula easy to work with because you can dot the product where you want and it doesn't immediately sink into the skin like a stain but it also blends into the skin without leaving a sticky or tacky veil on top of the skin. This formula applied really beautifully with finger or a brush, in fact, I really like applying it with my fingers, which is rare for me.

The way this formula blends into the skin is really unique because it almost transforms from a whipped cream to a liquid formula. It melts into the skin, very water-like, and leaves the skin with the pigment but it doesn't feel like there's product sitting on top of the skin. It doesn't feel like you have something on and it blends into the skin like a liquid blush would, which minimizes transfer. It dries down on the skin but it doesn't leave the skin looking dry or emphasizes texture on the skin. It still has this unique way of looking very fresh!

The product is quite pigmented and I find a peas-size is more than enough to cover the apples and even the plane of the cheeks up toward the cheekbones. The blush blends into the skin very easily and often applies very evenly. The first time I applied it, I missed a spot when blending the product in but I was easily able to layer more product to even it out and also to add more intensity.

The finish is really fresh even though the product does not leave any texture or a veil of product on your skin. The pigments have a pearl to them and so when the whipped blush is blended into the skin the pearl and pigment are what remains on the surface skin. The finish is glowing and soft but almost, skin-like. This is a finish that will suit many skin types because it isn't that glossy or dewy effect that you normally associate with cream blushes. It also isn't so matte, which will typically emphasize dryness on the skin. I didn't notice this formula emphasizing dryness, texture, or pores, but that is a concern because the blush has so much pearl in it. If you have a lot of texture to your skin, you may want to check out this formula in person first.

The wear time is great for a cream blush because it doesn't sit on top of the skin but it feels like it almost fuses with the skin and creates a thin layer of product on the skin. There is minimal to no transfer with these blushes so, I find these last beyond eight hours on my dry skin and when it does fade, it looks quite even.

This formula is also designed to be a multi-purpose product, which is very common with Bite Beauty. This formula can be used on the eyes as an eyeshadow and it works quite well as a cream shadow, as these do dry down. I love the idea of a product that is multi-purpose and that can give me an easy monochromatic look.

THE LOOK

You can see how fresh and glowing the shade Coconut Rum looks on my cheeks. It's a shade I like wearing with just about any look.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I really love this formula! It is something unique really unique to the overly saturated beauty industry. If you're looking to add something totally different to your collection, this is the product for you. This blush formula performs so beautifully and effortlessly. This formula is so easy to apply, it wears beautifully, and wears fairly long on the skin. This formula works so well on a variety of skin types because the formula is so universally flattering. I love the thin formula and the way it seamlessly fuses with the skin. These blushes not only look good but they feel really good on the skin. The wear time is exceptional for a cream-type of blush. I really do highly recommend this formula but the big issue I have with these blushes is the packaging. While a very unique and cool packaging, I just don't think it's very practical. The packaging isn't the easiest to use and there is a very big concern that there will be a lot of remaining product that will get stuck in the packaging. The packaging gives me some mixed feelings over whether I can recommend these blushes. I would recommend viewing these in-store before committing to purchasing them. They really are a lovely formula and I would like to see more shades but I also would like to see them rethink the packaging.
