| Review | Charlotte Tilbury Superstar Glow Highlighter
There's something about the holidays that brings out the highlighters and I'm not going to complain about it. Highlighters are easily one of my favorite makeup products because I love GLOW. Charlotte Tilbury is no stranger to highlighters and after seeing this large striking disc of glow, I knew I had to have it! Let's discuss if this highlighter will have you holiday-ready or if it's time to skip through this holiday launch.
The Charlotte Tilbury Superstar Glow Highlighter retails for $55.00 USD and is available at Sephora and other retailers. This stunning highlighter is housed in a shockingly matte silver compact. This is very different from Charlotte's iconic reflective rose gold packaging, which can be found with the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Bronzer (full review here). The matte silver packaging looks luxurious and attractive but is less likely to scratch or leave fingerprint marks because of the mattified finish. The compact is quite large and this is because this highlighter is intended for both face and body. The compact is slim with a magnetized closure, which is so chic.
SHADE
This holiday highlighter only comes in one universal shade. This highlighter is a soft peachy golden champagne. The base of the highlighter is peachy champagne and there is a very fine golden shimmer throughout the powder. Due to the warm peachy base and the golden shimmer, this highlighter is quite warm and golden when applied to the skin. On my medium skin tone, it looks very natural and the gold shimmer is what shows up on my skin. While this can work on a fair skin tone, it may be too warm depending on your skin tone. If you apply it lightly, the warmth should affect the look of this highlighter on the skin. One of the things I'm not a fan of when my highlighter is too gold or yellow, making it look like I applied a gold eyeshadow on my cheeks. This one actually has the perfect golden glow and it looks very natural on the skin.

COMPARISON SWATCHES
With so many highlighters being released this holiday, I'm sure you're wondering how this one compares. I have swatched this highlighter next to the Pat McGrath Skin Fetish Sublime Skin Highlighter, the Natasha Denona I Need A Nude Glow Highlighter, the Natasha Denona Tan Bronze & Glow Palette Glow Impact Powder (full review here), and the Essentials Glow Palette Medium to Dark Pink Champagne Highlighter (full review here).
FORMULA
This highlighter has a very creamy and soft texture. I have seen many pictures of this highlighter arriving smashed because the powder is so soft. This soft and creamy texture blends into the skin seamlessly, almost like a cream. This is ideal for both the body and the face because it can make the glow look much more natural. The highlighter is quite pigmented and a little bit goes a very long way. I recommend using a small brush or a fan brush and I recommend picking up very little product.
This highlighter can be built and layered to be very intense and very opaque, making it great as an eyeshadow. The very fine shimmer in this highlighter makes it look very seamless on the skin and it doesn't emphasize texture on the skin. If anything, it makes your skin look flawless because the shimmer is so fine and the finish is so soft. I feel like even when I apply it heavily on my cheekbones, it seems to blur and perfect that area! This almost never happens with highlighters, which often start to emphasize pores and texture as soon as it is applied. I was not expecting this perfecting effect on the skin and I am so impressed! I think the creamy texture is responsible for this seamless application and finish to the skin.
The wear time is excellent on this formula because it adheres well to the skin and blends in as part of your base, this highlighter last beyond 8 hours on the skin. This highlighter also photographs really well on the skin. Like I stated previously, the finish and the glow is very soft so, when captured by the camera, it doesn't look stark or too reflective. It just imparts the perfect and most natural beam of light to the skin.
THE LOOK
You can see the highlighter on my skin. I applied it quite heavily in layers with a fan brush. You can see how this highlighter actually makes my skin look flawless and poreless, which is amazing because I applied quite a lot on.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I didn't know what to expect from this highlighter. I guess when I first bought it, I thought it was going to be your standard powder highlighter but after using it, it is superior to your standard highlighter formula! The creamy texture of this highlighter allows it to truly blend into the skin and becomes part of it, instead of sitting on the surface of the skin. This ensures the most seamless application and flawless finish to the skin! I have found myself gravitating toward cream highlighters lately because powders can make my dry skin look unflattering at times but this powder highlighter is almost a hybrid of a cream and powder. It should work perfectly on all skin types, which is impressive!
I am very impressed with this formula and I highly recommend this highlighter! Not only is the quality of this formula exceptional and unique, but you also get so much product! I don't think I will ever finish this highlighter but it is also intended to be used on the body. Maybe someday I'll get through it but I am certainly enjoying every moment of using this highlighter! This is a winner and I'm hoping to see more shades in this incredible creamy powder formula soon!
