As a dry skin type, I consider myself a face oil connoisseur. I have tried many face oils and I have an ever-growing collection of them in my colection. Naturally, as an insane Augustinus Bader fan, I had to jump on getting his latest skincare miracle, The Face Oil. With the colder months approaching, I often find myself reaching for oils for day and night to keep my dry skin balanced, hydrated, and healthy. I was also curious as to how the anti-aging properties of this oil would work compared to the creams. To no surprise, it's a pretty phenomenal product. Read on to learn more. 

The Augustinus Bader The Face Oil retails for $230.00 USD  for 30ml and $85.00 USD for 10ml and is available at Augustinus Bader. This oil is beautifully and elegantly housed in a translucent cobalt bottle with a copper dropper cap. As with all his products, the packaging is extremely luxurious, heavy, and significant in your hands. Exactly what you'd expect from a premium skincare brand. 

As a reference, for 30ml of The Cream or The Rich Cream costs $170.00 USD but keep in mind that the oil is much richer, more intense, and requires a lot less product to treat the skin. 

FORMULA

When it comes to distributing the product from the bottle, the pipette for this oil controls exactly how much you draw in and dispense. It has this button-top mechanism and when you press it down and insert it into the oil, it draws in a very specific amount of product. When you press it again, it dispenses all of the product into your hands. While you can't control the amount of product being distributed, it is the perfect amount to cover your face, neck, and decolletage. For those who want to use just a bit of the oil, this may be an issue but overall not a huge problem in my opinion. 

This face oil is a rich oil with a medium viscosity, not extremely light but not heavy either. It is light enough to feel very comfortable on the face and light enough to be used under makeup without breaking down the foundation. It still has a richness that hydrates the skin deeply and it gives your skin a very healthy glow. I think unless you have dry skin, you will probably avoid using this face oil as a primer. 

This face oil will not absorb immediately into the skin and it will leave a veil of oil on the skin. I prefer to use this oil in the evenings and like the Augustinus Bader creams, I don't feel like I need to pair this oil with anything else. Using the oil on its own is very potent and effective. This oil renews skin cells by promoting cell turnover. It tightens, smooths, and creates radiance in the skin. When I wake up, my skin is GLOWING and it looks so incredibly smooth. I notice a huge improvement in the elasticity of my skin, it has this very tight and healthy bounce to it. Even after I wash my face in the morning, there is this healthy glow that is just a permanent part of my skin. It's miraculous! 

There's a concept that I often talk about in my skincare reviews regarding "fully saturating the skin". What I mean by this is that your skin is so saturated with nourishment and moisture that it can no longer absorb any more product. This is how I determine a phenomenal product from a good product. When I wake up, I find my skin has soaked in the maximum amount of product and there's still a fine film of product on my skin because my skin can no longer take in any more product. This product does exactly that! Overnight, it deeply nourishes and absorbs into the skin, giving my skin a plump and completely renewed appearance in the morning! 

Just as his creams are one-of-a-kind, there really is no oil quite like this one! If you want to see immediate results, the Augustinus Bader products will deliver! You will see results after your first use and it will just noticeably improve your skin with more use! This is a formula I would reach for more as the weather gets colder and my skin gets drier. 

Long term, since I have started using Augustinus Bader products, I have seen a HUGE improvement in my skin. I was very insecure and paranoid about the lines around my mouth but since I started using the Agustinus Bader range and this oil, you can't even tell that there was a wrinkle developing there. It was a fairly deep wrinkle because as my friends know, I am a very expressive person. I haven't been able to really detect is since I started incorporating Agustinus Bader into my routine! I don't even use the products every day! I actually use it about two to three times a week and I have seen incredible results!

FINAL THOUGHTS 

I have always been a fan of face oils due to my dry skin but nothing treats my skin quite like this oil! It's richness deeply hydrates my dry skin and the nourishing ingredients really do help reduce my eczema patches. I sometimes find that powerful antiaging products will cause my eczema to flare up but this oil keeps my skin hydrated, soothe, and smooth! The results are undeniable, as they happen from one night of use! It is only Augustinus Bader products that deliver results so rapidly and continue to impress me every time I use them. 

Since I switch up skin products often, I find myself in the mornings often thinking, "what did I use last night?" because I wake up with this bouncy, smooth, and glowing complexion. This oil truly plumps out lines and makes my skin look so healthy! I have never had a natural glow after washing my face but this oil nourishes my skin so well that it has this constant healthy glow. The oil is also extremely versatile, you can use it under makeup for hydration and extra glow but for me, the real magic happens when you use it as a night treatment. 

While it is a very costly oil, the results are well worth the price! You don't need much of the oil to see an incredible and dramatic change in your skin. I have found myself wearing less and less makeup because my skin is in such good condition. I am very happy with how smooth and healthy my skin looks without any foundation or concealer. I have the Augustinus Bader range to tank for it. I can't recommend this facial oil enough! If you're a fan of rich and nourishing face oils, this will change your routine forever! The quality of the ingredients and formulation is exceptional! You really won't find anything quite like this is the very saturated beauty market.
