These sleek and compact eyeshadow sticks come in beautiful metallic and reflective packaging. These cream eyeshadow twist up easily and the rounded tip of the eyeshadow is fine and easy to apply. This pen-style cream eyeshadow is very sanitary and easy to use, which is why it is one of my favorite forms of cream shadow.
SHADES
The Ombre Blackstar Cream Eyeshadow Pens come in a wide range of shades and ever-expanding. These three shades were recently added for summer 2020 and they're the perfect summer shades to illuminate and define the eyes. These new shades are inspired by the beautiful By Terry Brightening CC Serums, which I have reviewed here.
N20 Immaculate Light - This beautiful cool champagne has a subtly pink tone and a strong champagne shimmer running throughout it. This is a beautiful all-over lid shade or for a brightening inner eye pop.
N21 Rose Elixir - This shade is a soft and light luminous rose shade with a silvery pink pearl. This fresh cool pink brightens the eyes and doesn't make the eyes look irritated. It is a fresh and easy pink to wear on the eyes for all skin tones.
N22 Sunny Flash - This shade is a warm medium bronze shade with golden shimmer. This golden bronze shade is stunning on all skin tones and eye colors. It is luminous but deep enough to provide a little definition and depth to the eyes.
FORMULA
First of all, this cream eyeshadow format is excellent and one that more brands need to adopt. The convenience of a pen-style cream shadow is that you can bring it with you everywhere, it's quick and easy to apply. You can quickly swipe this shadow on the eyes and easily blend it out with fingers or a brush. The small rounded tip even allows you to get precision and lets you get under the eyes, as well.
This cream formula drys quite quickly, so I recommend doing one eye at a time to ensure you have to time to properly blend this shadow. Once it dries, IT DOESN'T BUDGE! I mean these cream eyeshadows adhere to the eyes like cement! They just set and eve rubbing or water won't remove or fade these eyeshadows! It's insanely impressive! I even tried to use micellar water to remove the swatches and they wouldn't budge! This formula has an amazingly long wear time and it stays saturated all day long! This formula makes an excellent eyeshadow base because it creates an amazing water-resistant barrier. Great for sweat and even jumping in the pool!
The shimmers in this formula are so elegant and refined. The shimmers make it look glistening, almost light sunlight reflective off a water surface. It is so unique and stunning! The shimmers are extremely fine and give the shadows a slight metallic finish but it doesn't look unflattering over texture or lines on the eyes.
The formula is very smooth and creamy. It glides on so easily with no resistance or tugging on the eyes. It blends out very easily when it is still freshly applied. These later very well with each other or even with powder eyeshadows. The initial swipe is very pigmented but it can be sheered out if you quickly blend all over but if you love a pigmented cream eyeshadow, this is pigmented right off the bat.
THE LOOK
I applied all the shades very lightly for a sheerer sparkly summer look. I applied Immaculate Light in the inner corner, the Rose Elixir in the center of the lid, and Sunny Flash on the outer corner of my eyes. I love these for a quick and easy look when I need to get out of the house. They're so easy to use and always looks flattering.
FINAL THOUGHTS
These are the most long-wearing cream eyeshadows I have ever come across! This formula is so impressively intense, creamy, and long-wearing! These new summer shades are so universally flattering and they work so well alone or paired with some powder eyeshadows. They're easy to take on-the-go or for travel. The shimmering finish of these eyeshadows in particularly unique compare to other cream shadows I have encountered before. Like I mentioned before, it is like sunlight glistening on the surface of water. These cream eyeshadows have been raved about all over the beauty community for years and I can see why! This formula is phenomenal and well worth the price! You're getting a cream eyeshadow and a primer all in one with this formula! I highly recommend picking up a shade or two for the day when you don't have the energy to put in a lot of effort but you want to look polished. These are truly like crushed gems in a little pen-style tube!
