| Review | Marc Jacobs Coconut Face Primer

Like many beauty enthusiasts, I have heard endless hype about this primer, so I couldn't resist getting the Enamored with Coconut set that Marc Jacobs recently released that included the full size. I am not a huge primer person but this year I have really been getting into them, especially the glowing and hydrating ones because my skin is on the dry side. This one is intended to by hydrating and nourishing for the skin, which sounds like a wonderful skin treat and if you know me, you will know I LOVE a good makeup-skincare hybrid!

The Marc Jacobs Coconut Face Primer retails for $44.00 USD and is available at Sephora and other retailers. Like many of his bottled products, this primer is housed in a luxurious frosted glass bottle with a pump dispenser. The pump is very easy to control, making it easy to dispense the right amount of product each time.

This milky primer has a very runny liquid texture and feels almost like a serum on the skin. It is very hydrating and lightweight. It leaves my skin feeling very hydrated and smooth. It feels like a lightweight moisturizer on the skin and it makes my foundation glides on very easily. It is supposed to have a coconut fragrance but it is very faint and I hardly smell anything, which I don't mind because it means it won't be bothersome throughout the day. The product absorbs almost instantly into my skin, leaving a smoother texture to my skin. It really doesn't have any oil controlling properties. I find even on my dry skin, the oil on my nose shines through throughout the day so I recommend powdering well in the areas you where tend to get oily. The primer really significantly extend the wear of my makeup. I applied my makeup on at 6:30 am and when I finally removed my makeup at 10:00 pm, it looked pretty much the same except for a bit of oil on my nose! My cream contour and highlighter stayed on all day an my face looked pretty flawless! I'm very impressed considering this product feel like a moisturizer but it has a great long-wearing formula!

I like mixing this primer with the Dew Drops Coconut Highlighter to create an illuminating and hydrating primer. It creates a very healthy all over soft golden glow, plus the hydration and the texture of the primer helps the highlighter smooth over skin easier than it normally would. I like the texture of this primer because it doesn't have that silicone texture that feels slippery on the skin. While silicone primers are effective, they aren't the most appealing texture. This primer feels like a light moisturizer but has the benefits of a primer. As someone with dry skin and issue with dry patches, I love the hydration this primer provides and the longevity it gives my base makeup! This is a definite winner from the brand and must-have for dry skin types!
