| Review | One Over One Chiaroscuro Cream Color

One Over One is a natural and organic beauty brand with a mission to deliver clean and minimal beauty. They believe in makeup that naturally enhances the wearer and offers a timeless look that never goes out of style. I was very excited to come across this organic makeup brand on Octoly and be sent their products complimentary for reviewing purposes. One Over One's beauty philosophy is "keep it simple" and "simplicity is beautiful" which is something I truly appreciate in a market that is always trying to get us to buy more and apply more.

The One Over One Chiaroscuro Cream Color retails for $ 36.00 USD for .10oz and is available at One Over One. This cream duo is packaged in a sturdy clear compact and contains .10oz of product, which isn't that much but the brand is considered an organic and luxury label. Even for an organic and luxury brand, I must say that the price per ounce is disappointingly high. These Cream Colors come in 4 different color ways and these Cream Colors are actually multi-purpose and can be used on the eyes, lips, and cheeks! All the One Over One products are mutli-purpose and meant to help simplify and minimize your beauty routine. I love having these mutli-use products in my bag for daily use because I often don't have a lot of time to get ready on the week days or I'm running late because I've decided to sleep in.

This Cream Color is 94% natural and 82% organic! Which is amazing! The product is made with all natural and organic waxes and oils, like orange peel butter, sunflower oil, sesame oil, and cocoa butter!

Check out this amazingly clean ingredients list:
Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil*, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Oil*, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil*, Triisostearyl Citrate, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax*, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch*, Zinc Stearate, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Coco-caprylate, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Wax, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Flower/Leaf Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower/Leaf/Steam Extract, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Flower Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Tocopherol, Phenethyl Alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerin. Here's how it performs on for the following purposes:

CHEEKS

I have long searched for natural organic makeup products that match the quality and wear of my luxury (non-organic) brand products and this one comes very close! After using this product for the first time, it immediately reminded me of the Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate!

The texture of this cream color is emollient and sheer. It offers a glossy finish but it still has some significant pigment to the product, particularly the bronze side. It has a balmy texture and the pigment can built up very easily. It does have golden shimmer throughout both sides of the product but it is very subtle and fine, not really dramatically affecting the overall look. I think the product is best applied with the fingers because the pan is quite small but then blended with a brush for a more seamless application. I often do this with my Shade and Illuminate as well.

Gold (Highlight) - This pale gold is very sheer and offers a golden and glossy sheen to the cheeks. It reminds me a lot of the Shade and Illuminate's highlighter but more golden. It is very glossy and creates a very healthy glow and texture to the skin. It's sheer finish makes this product versatile for many skin tones.

Bronze (Bronze/Contour) - This shade is a slightly warm bronze shade with very fine bits of gold shimmer that don't really show up on the skin. This shade is just a pinch warmer than the contour shade from the Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate but it can still be used as a contouring or sculpting product. It is also a just a pinch sheerer but again, the pigment is very buildable, which makes it great for fair skin tones that may be intimidated by these bronze/contour shades.

As you can see, the Shade and Illuminate is much cooler all around and a bit more opaque but the overall finish is very similar when blended and applied to skin.

EYES

On the eyes these are a beautiful sheer and glossy lid color. If you like that glossy lid look, its a great product! I often have irritation when it comes to certain eye glosses and cream shadows but because this product only contains all natural and organic ingredients, it's super gentle and doesn't cause any problems! It will crease but because the shades are relatively sheer and it has that glossy finish, it looks very chic and cool. I love a good glossy lid for a very natural look and the bronze shade has enough color to add subtle definition.

LIPS

This product does have a balmy and glossy texture on the skin but it's less so on the lips. It offers a more subtle "matte" shimmer to the lips. Again, because the shades are relatively sheer, both of the colors just add a bit of shimmer to the lips. It feels very soft and hydrating because the formula contains many natural oils. Personally, its not my favorite for the lips but in a pinch, it still offers a pretty touch to an overall look.

MY FINAL THOUGHTS

I love the texture and formula of this product because it is extremely easy to work with and doesn't require a brush. The finish is so natural and flattering. It provides just the perfect amount of color and definition to my face. The highlighter offers a glossy glow, which I am a fan of because it looks very healthy and fresh. I really love this on the eyes too! The glossy bronze shade is so cool and chic on the lids for a quick and fresh look, without the eye irritation that I normally experience with similar products! This product is truly versatile and multi-purpose. I love the freshness it adds to my complexion and face with such minimal effort. The natural and organic ingredients really agrees with my skin and eyes. I don't experience any irritation or breakouts, which is wonderful! I think the formula will work for normal to dry skin types best but can still work for oily skin types if placed strategically. I really believe this is very similar my favorite luxury contour product, the Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate, but this has a very clean formula. I think this is an amazing natural and organic alternative for those who are looking for a high quality and clean version.
