Review: Kat Von D Lock-It Edge Concealer Brush

The Lock-It Edge concealer brush is available at Sephora and retails for $24.00 USD, This brush is made of synthetic hair and has a long black handle that tapers to a point, inspired by a witch's broomstick. This brush handle can be found on her entire line of brushes. The brush itself is of an average brush weight, not to heavy but not light and cheap feeling. The hairs on the brush create a tapered slope on one side of the brush. Its a very dense brush and the bristles are very soft.

The shape of this brush is definitely unique from anything I own or have seen on the market. It is small enough to allow you to get close to the lash line under the eyes but still large enough to blend. It is a decent concealer brush but I don't find it compatible with her concealers. Her concealers are on the thicker side making them harder to blend, and this brush doesn't work well with the concealer. I do agree with the description, that this brush does help provide maximum coverage. This is due to it's density and size. I still prefer a slightly larger and fluffier brush to do the blending, especially under my eyes. However, the edge of the brush does allow you to "clean up" under the eyes and shape the perfect winged liner. Going from the under eyes upward, you can create a crisp wing by cleaning up the edge of your liner! Maybe that's why its called the "Lock-It Edge"?
Overall, this is a very nice brush and worthy of the price in quality and performance. I just don't find this brush a necessity in anyone;s collection. To be honest, I don't really find concealer brushes to be a necessity. Fingers tend to work the best, especially when working with thicker concealers. I like having a concealer brush, for the days when you don't want to get your hands dirty, but this one isn't my favorite, I think it's a beautiful and high quality brush but its just not anything special to me.
