The easiest and most gentle way to achieve glowing skin is exfoliating daily. I am a big fan of exfoliating the skin regularly but you can't always use the most potent exfoliators. A daily exfoliating toner is something often overlooked by many people. This is a great way to maintain healthy and glowing skin without using harsh peels. I'm excited to see an expansion to the Superfood range, which has always focused on helping achieve healthy skin. This product was kindly sent to me by Elemis. 

The Elemis Superfood Fruit Vinegar Liquid Glow retails for $36.00 USD and is available at Elemis and other retailers. This liquid toner is packaged in a very innovative and convenient pump bottle. You can easily dispense the product just by pressing a cotton pad up and down on the top of the bottle. It keeps the bottle sanitary, it minimizes waste, and it's just convenient. 

FORMULA 

I know the first thing you're thinking is "vinegar in skincare?" First of all, it doesn't smell like vinegar at all. It actually smells delicious and fruity! This was very unexpected even for me! I love this juicy and fruity fragrance when I'm swiping it all over my face. Second of all, vinegar in skincare is not a new or unusual concept. Actually, it is quite popular in Korean skincare. 

Fermentation, the process that leads to vinegar, produces probiotic bacteria that are beneficial to the functioning of the skin's barrier. Vinegar also contains amino acids, alpha hydroxy acids, and acetic acid. Additionally, vinegar has anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants, which are great for aging skin. It also helps unblock pores, absorb excess oils, and balances the pH of the skin. 

I find that I only need two good pumps to cover my face, neck, and decolletage. My skin feels instantly refreshed and hydrated. This toner is designed to be gentle enough to be used twice daily. In the mornings, I like using it to prep my skin for makeup. It helps hydrate, soothe redness, and smooth out the texture of my skin. It really refines the texture of the skin, making pores smaller, and the texture much smoother for makeup application. This will give you a true glow from within, whether you're wearing makeup or not. 

When I use it in the evenings, I see the most impact. In the morning, my skin feels significantly softer, smoother, and I awake with a beautiful glow to my complexion! There is a very noticeable difference in my skin when I use this toner compared to when I don't. This toner also helps my other products absorb and work more efficiently. I see more of an impact with my skincare routine and a huge difference in the texture of my skin.

Here are some ingredients to highlight from this formula: 

Fruit Vinegar - The vinegar in this formula is derived from the maceration of apple vinegar with apricot and peach. This vinegar is abundant in natural AHAs, which promote cell turnover. not only removing dead skin cells but also promoting healthier and youthful skin. Additionally, monosaccharides and amino acids help to retain moisture to the skin, keeping it hydrated. I definitely noticed the instant and continuous hydration that this formula provides. I also, of course, noticed the cell turnover. My skin is significantly smoother, softer, and healthier after using this toner. 

Blackberry-Raspberry Vinegar - Using a cold extraction process to create this vinegar means that this vinegar has the most nutrients. This vinegar is known to restore the balance of the skin and act as a peeling agent. Again, this is noticeable during the use of this toner because you can feel how smooth and soft the skin becomes. It also helps balance the oils on the skin when you use it during the day for priming for makeup. 

Prebiotic - The prebiotic found in this formula helps support and strengthen the skin barrier, which is always very important for healthy skin. The stronger and healthier your skin barrier is, the more it will protect the skin from bacteria, pollution, and other damaging environmental factors. 

Prickly Pear Cactus - This resilient plant has adapted to extreme environmental conditions. These plants can retain and store a large amount of water. It is also rich in vitamin c, which is a powerful antioxidant for brightening the skin, protecting it against UV light, and helps prevent signs of aging. The extract from this plant is also known to soothe and hydrate the skin. You will notice all these benefits when using this formula. 

FINAL THOUGHTS 

This toner is another hit from the Elemis brand! The refreshing fruit fragrance makes it such a delight to use and adds to the experience. While the formula is potent, it doesn't cause sensitivity or irritation on my skin. What I love about this formula the most is that it feels so hydrating on the skin! This formula really plumps and hydrates the skin while it helps exfoliate and unblock pores. This is great for my dry skin because my skin can get easily clogged but it's also on the dry side. This toner is gentle enough to use every day but it's potent enough to smooth out the texture of my skin, unclogs my pores, and helps refine the texture of my skin! I don't often use an exfoliating toner twice a day but this one is so great for prepping the skin for makeup. Especially, since I started wearing less makeup these days, I appreciate the beautiful and healthy glow that this toner provides! I highly recommend this toner and it will be one I will be repurchasing again.
