This has been my most anticipated product launch from the VBB brand! I am a bronzer fiend and I know Victoria Beckham is too! As one of my daily staples in my routine, I am very particular about bronzer. I have high expectations for this formula and luckily, it doesn't disappoint! I think if you're afraid of bronzer or new to bronzer, you're going to love this formula! Keep reading to learn more about this latest innovation from Victoria Beckham Beauty. 

The Victoria Beckham Beauty Matte Bronzing Brick retails for $58.00 USD for 9.6g/.34oz and is available at Victoria Beckham Beauty. This bronzer is housed in a beautiful and luxurious compact with a tortoise-shell design and gold detailing. The tortoise-shell design is incorporated throughout the whole VBB range. The compact is very flat and sleek, which makes it easy to carry about and store. The compact is weighty and feels very luxurious in my hands. 

The compact has a little button that releases the opening of the compact. This button looks really lovely but the issue I have with it is that it opens very easily. The compact is not very secure and it leaves a fine gap between the top and bottom of the compact. I feel like a light tap opens up the compact, which isn't great for travel or even for throwing it in a drawer. I have experienced it being open in my travel makeup bag and even when careful storing it in a small organizer, the compact popped open. 

The pan the product is in is actually magnetic and removable. The brand believes in sustainability so, they made this compact refillable. You can purchase Matte Bronzing Brick Refill for $42.00 USD. You can save money by buying only the refill and placing it into a magnetic palette. 

SHADES 

These bronzers currently come in five shades to span a wide range of skin tones. This is actually a pretty expansive range for bronzer, especially, because each "shade" comes with two bronzer colors. On the back of the compact, it implies that one shade is a "Warm" shade for bronzing and the other shade is a "Contour" shade. In my opinion, both shades are much too warm to actually contour with. 

The two shades in one palette is a really smart concept and something that more brands should consider because it really allows for so much versatility among one palette. I really do believe there is a duo that will suit anyone. Also, the dual-color pan makes it easy for people, like myself, who fluctuate between skin shades throughout the year. Lately, I've been inside so much, I mostly use the lighter side but as summer approaches I will mix the two shades or wear the deeper shade more. I purchased one shade but I am considering picking up another for when getting a deeper tan. 

02 Soleil (warm - left shade) - This shade is a light and soft golden beige shade. It looks almost like a skin-toned powder. If had more of a tan, this may be a powder for my skin tone. This shade leans neutral golden, which means it won't appear orange, even on a fair skin tone. It's strange that this is the "warm" shade because the color is so neutral but it still offers a natural warmth to the skin. 

02 Honey (contour - right shade) - This shade is at least two to three shades deeper than the Soleil shade. This shade is a soft warm tan with a very warm tone. When you apply it to the skin, you will notice a slight reddish undertone, which gives your skin this natural sun flushed look. While it looks quite warm in the pan and even on the skin, it doesn't oxidize or turn orange on the skin. I would definitely not consider this a contour shade but it will give the skin more depth and dimension.

FORMULA 

This formula is very soft, silky, smooth, and creamy in texture. The powder is extremely finely milled and soft that when you dip your brush into the product, it picks up quite a lot of product and kicks up some excess. Although the powder is very soft, it isn't powdery or dusty in texture. It is actually so silky and creamy that it blends into the skin seamlessly, almost like a cream. This soft texture also tends to adhere really well to freshly applied foundation so, if you don't like powdering your face, just be aware that the powder clings easily. Even so, I haven't had any issues with patchy or uneven applications. The formula still blends out seamlessly on the skin. 

If you use the right brush, the formula really looks like a real natural tan. I prefer a large fluffy fan brush for a natural glow or an angled powder brush for a more sculpted look. The formula is very buildable and you start with a light-medium pigmentation and you can keep building it to get a richer color. Even as you build it, the powder really blends into the skin, leaving a very natural finish. The bronzer really adapts to the base underneath, the dewier the base the glowier the bronzer. If you want a more matte look, use a matte base. It looks so incredibly natural and although it's matte, it never looks dry on the skin. 

The consistency of the powder is so beautiful that even when you get "hard pan", the spots that occur in your product when the powder hardens from oils or moisture, it doesn't cause the product to be unusable. Normally, you'd have to scrape these hard areas of your product but when I rub my fingers over the spots, they still pick up product. The soft texture of the powder seems unaffected by moisture and oils from the skin, which is really great. 

This bronzer wears very well, I have experienced it lasting beyond eight hours on the skin without fading. It's impressive well this product wears yet, how natural it appears on the skin. It really fuses with the skin and doesn't sit on top of it, making it easier to fade away. This powder formula really is unique and exceptional. 

THE LOOK 

You can see who natural the bronzer looks on the skin, even when applied heavily. For these looks, I applied the bronzer to the hollows of the cheeks, temples, sides of the nose, jawline, and even in the crease of my eyes. 

FINAL THOUGHTS 

I am quite impressed with this formula, especially, after trying so many new powder bronzer formulas recently. This bronzer offers one of the softest and smoothest formulas I have come across! The finely milled and silky powder really glides on the skin easily and evenly. This formula is so effortless and easy to use. Even those who are afraid of bronzer or new to bronzer will love using this formula. This is a bronzer that will suit all skin tones and all skin types. I love that each bronzer comes with two shades so, you can customize your look. I also love the beautiful finish that looks so good on every skin type. The only thing I'm not totally in love with is the compact because it has a tendency to open and isn't as secure as I'd like it to be. Still, you can't deny that the formula is phenomenal. If you're in the market for a new bronzer, I can't recommend this one enough! I think it may be my new favorite and I know it is one I will continue to repurchase again and again.
