| Review | Wayne Goss The Radiance Boosting Face Palette

Second to my obsession with highlighters and achieving glowing skin is bronzer. I can't be without my bronzer and when I saw Wayne Goss was releasing his take on bronzer, I knew I HAD to have it! I have never been a huge fan of contouring and contouring products. I have always enjoyed the look of sculpting with bronzer because of its natural look and the fresh glow it offers to the skin. Wayne Goss has a very similar philosophy to me when it comes to sculpting the face and this new release really speaks to me.

The Wayne Goss The Radiance Boosting Face Palettes retails for $45.00 USD and is available at Beautylish. These powders are housed in a timeless black plastic compact with a large mirror. This compact is durable and feels high-quality but it's not the most luxurious compact. It is designed to be very functional and sleek. It is a great compact for traveling with. I would like to point out the large size of the pans because this makes it easy to use almost any sized brush to apply the product.

SHADES

These Radiance Boosting Face Palettes come in three colorways designed to suit all skin tones. Bronzer and sculpting palettes tend to be versatile and should suit most skin tones. Wayne Goss has these palettes demonstrated on many skin tones and they seem to very versatile, which is quite surprising for having only three shade options.

Each palette contains two shades, one warmer bronzing shade, and one cooler contouring shade. When I contour, this is exactly how I like to do it. I would use a cooler sculpting powder to chisel out the contours of my face and I would blend it out with a warmer bronzer shade for a natural transition and finish to the skin. Each palette is designed with a specific tone to suit a range of skin tones.

Satin Bronze - This is the "medium skin tone" palette that is designed to suit medium to tan skin tones.

  • Bronze Glow (Bronzer) - The bronzer in this duo appears in the pan as a warm light golden tan with a very fine golden shimmer throughout. You can see the fine specks of shimmer in the pan but you don't really detect them on the skin. It just prevents the color from looking too matte and flat on the skin. It really adds a beautiful glow to the skin. The more your buff this formula, the less pigment, and the more glow will come through. This shade also has a slight reddish tone when applied to the skin, which offers this sun-flushed look to the skin.

  • Medium taupe (Contour) - This shade is a very cool light-medium taupe with a gray undertone. This shade really does mimic the look of an actual shadow on the skin and when applied properly looks very natural. This shade has no visible shimmer and is a soft matte finish on the skin. The finish has a soft sheen that makes it look very skin-like. The finish is very unique and beautiful.

FORMULA

These powders are very soft and almost dusty in texture. They aren't a dry powder but what I mean by dusty is when you dip your brush into it, you get a lot of excess powder that is released and you pick up a to of powder. The powder is very finely milled, which is why you can pick up so much of it with one dip into the pan. This type of very fine and fluffy powder doesn't work as well over wet skin or freshly applied foundation that has not been set. The fine particles adhere to any texture and it makes it hard to get a perfectly even application and it makes it difficult to blend. However, it does blend out easily and seamlessly because the powder is so soft.

The powder really glides onto the skin and blends really effortlessly, except on a more wet foundation. It will blend but it is not as effortless. I'm the kind of person who doesn't like to set my foundation and I really like a dewy finish, which both of these don't work well with this formula. If you are using these powders without setting your base, I recommend using a foundation with a natural, satin, or matte finish foundation.

This fine powder blends into the skin very seamlessly and it doesn't appear patchy or uneven at all. Even when attempting to blend it over wet foundation. The powder is very soft and quite pigmented so, picking up a little bit and building the color on the skin is important. Also, the best way to get the most seamless finish is to dip into the pan and tap the brush around on the back of your hand to evenly distribute the fine power, otherwise, you may have a very heavy amount of product on the tip of the brush.

The powders look really soft and natural on the skin. They actually blur skin imperfections and looks really flawless on the skin. One issue I do notice is that if you have a heavy amount of peach fuzz, this very fine powder will cling to the hairs and can look a bit patchy. It will take more effort to blend it out. Other than that, it doesn't emphasize texture on the skin because the powder is so smooth and silky.

This powder formula doesn't look powdery or heavy on the skin. It looks nice and creamy on the skin. This formula adheres well to the skin but I do notice my skin really eats this formula up and it will last about five to six hours before it started to fade. Note, I also applied this formula to foundation that was not set. I think because the powder is so fine, your base can absorb the powder and cause it to break down. When I applied this over a powdered complexion, this formula last beyond 8 hours with little to no fading.

THE LOOK

I applied both products quite heavily in this look because I was planning on quite a glamorous look. If you click on the image to zoom in a bit, you can see how smooth this powder is. You don't see it sitting on the skin, even when applied heavily.

FINAL THOUGHTS

What I really appreciate about these duos are the beautifully crafted shades. You can tell the shades are thought out very well because they have the perfect balance that allows them to seamlessly blend into the skin and look natural. Plus, the formula is very unique with a fine and silky texture, which just blends into the texture of the skin without emphasizing texture. The formula is so versatile and can be used to create a very natural look or an intense glamorous contour. I don't always contour but this formula makes it very a very easy and effortless process because the shades are so perfect and the formula is so refined. These powders are a joy to use and if you've been afraid to experiment with contouring, I think this is the perfect product to start with.

Again, the colors are the most unique part of these duos. I really haven't come across shades that are so universal before. I know so many skin tones will be able to use these palettes. This blendable formula is so luxurious, you get a ton of product, and the formula is just exceptional! I don't think I have been disappointed by a Wayne Goss product yet and this duo has surpassed my expectations! I can't recommend this product enough! Grab one and you'll fall in love with these silky sculpting powders!
