| Review | Saie Slip Tint Dewy Tinted Moisturizer SPF 35 Sunscreen

Give me dewy skin any day! This tinted moisturizer has been on my radar for a while now and I couldn't help picking myself up a shade when the Sephora sale came around. This minimalist brand appeals to my newfound attraction to minimalist makeup. The "less is more" approach to makeup is finally trending and I feel a real connection with that sentiment. Plus, I love the convenience of multi-purpose and multi-use products that minimalist beauty brands provide. This tinted moisturizer not only offers coverage but sun protection too. If you're looking for an effortless and glowy base then keep reading! 

The Saie Slip Tint Dewy Tinted Moisturizer SPF 35 Sunscreen retails for $32.00 USD and is available at Sephora and other retailers. This tinted moisturizer is very practical and simply packaged in a tube with a pump. The design is so simple but it still looks very chic with the negative space of the brand logo revealing the tinted moisturizer shade inside. The pump is very high quality and allows you to control how much product is being dispensed. This is great packaging for traveling with and storing. 

SHADES 

This tinted moisturizer currently comes in 10 shades, which isn't the most inclusive shade range. Even for a tinted moisturizer, unless it's really sheer, offering more shades is best because anything with pigment will make it difficult to shade match. My one other qualm about this shad range is that they currently only offer ONE "in-between" shade. What I mean by this is all their shade names are numbered and there is a "Three+ Half" but not other "half shades". The rest of the shades are whole numbers. I think it's strange to offer only one in-between of half shade in a range. At that point, why bother making that shade at all. I'm not going to complain about more shade options but I really think this shade range needs some expansion. I chose the shade: 

Four - I had a tricky time trying to determine my shade based on the swatches and images of the people with related skin tones because the middle shades differ only very slightly but I must say that this shade suits my skin perfectly! This shade is a medium beige shade with a neutral undertone, which perfectly fuses with my NC30-35 skin tone with a neutral undertone. What I like about this shade is that although neutral, it doesn't lean to peach or pink, which sometimes happens with brands. This shade is just a very flattering neutral that doesn't make your skin look dead or gray either.

FORMULA 

This tinted moisturizer is beautifully described by its name and there's no false advertising here! This formula does have a "slip" to its texture. This isn't the slippery texture that you may associate with silicone-based products or a greasy slip from too much oil. The slip is more of a slick and light emulsion texture. The tinted moisturizer smooths onto the skin evenly and blends into the skin. This "slip" texture is very unique and more apparent when you apply the tinted moisturizer with your fingers. This texture actually makes me want to apply with my fingers because the texture is so slick and just glides onto the skin. It blends so nicely with the fingers without blending away completely. 

This tinted moisturizer has beautiful pigment and coverage to it. It starts as a light-medium coverage and you can continue to build it to get fuller medium coverage. I was shocked that it only took one layer to cover the redness around my nose. There are many foundations and tinted moisturizers that don't cover up that area on me but this tinted moisturizer only took one layer! I still had to conceal any acne spots and acne scars because they still peeked through just a bit. For a tinted moisturizer, I think the coverage is impressive. 

When they described this tinted moisturizer as "dewy", they weren't joking, IT IS DEW-Y! It's so dewy that it gives your complexion a glass-skin look! It really looks like you're wearing one of those glossy cream highlighters, which I think is stunning for my dry skin but in the t-zone, I have to powder it. I am normally not a fan of using powder for day-to-day use but, these are so dewy on the t-zone I have to. Once I powder the center of my face though, this dewy finish is complexion perfection! I just love how fresh, healthy, and glossy my skin looks! This formula doesn't set down so, if you are concerned about transferring, you will need to set the tinted moisturizer yourself. 

Despite the all-day dewy finish, this formula actually lasts so well! It does fade a bit into the 6th hour if you don't set it but I have worn this formula long past 8 hours. The fading isn't extreme but barely noticeable. This is a formula that will most likely not last in a very hot or humid climate. It works really well from fall through to spring but as the weather heats up, even my dry skin won't be able to hold onto this base. If it's a particularly hot and sweaty day, I probably won't reach for this but to be honest, I will probably avoid most base products because they will just feel to heavy or melt off the face. 

THE LOOK

You can see how glowing my skin looks immediately after applying the tinted moisturizer. I also used quite a dewy concealer, the Glossier Stretch Concealer. The coverage is beautiful and this fresh finish looks so healthy. I have no highlighter on my skin in this picture all the glow is coming from the tinted moisturizer. 

FINAL THOUGHTS 

I am very impressed with this dewy tinted moisturizer formula! I was initially very concerned that it would be too sheer but this formula has wonderful coverage and the dewy finish is beautiful! This formula is effortless and so easy to use, which is great for people of all makeup application skills. I love that it applied equally as beautifully with fingers as it does with a brush. This formula definitely isn't for everyone because the finish is so dewy but if you love a dewy glow, you will really love this! I find the finish so healthy and juicy. It gives me the glass-skin effect with just one step! I usually spend more time and energy to achieve a glass-skin look. This is one of the very few base products that achieve that glow on its own. I just love how comfortable it feels on my skin. It really feels hydrating and nourishing without being greasy or heavy. I really am so in love with this formula and I am constantly reaching for it. I haven't been too impressed with tinted moisturizer formulas lately but this one has surpassed my expectations! I really can't recommend this formula enough and I hope they will consider expanding the shade range to suit even more skin tones! This will definitely become a staple in your everyday makeup bag and is well worth the money!
