| Review | Kilian Le Rouge Parfum Scented Matte Lipstick
The lure of a luxurious nude lipstick is so strong, I couldn't resist picking up these new nude shades from Kilian. It seems fragrance brands have been breaking into the makeup game in the past few years and it's no surprise since it is such a successful industry. I always have a healthy amount of skepticism when it comes to brands entering into the makeup space because it can be a total cash grab or it could be fantastic. While these lipsticks have been around for a while, they just released these nude shades that piqued my curiosity and I have high hopes for the quality of these lipsticks.
The Kilian Le Rouge Parfum Scented Matte Lipstick retails for $55.00 USD and is available at Sephora, Neiman Marcus, Saks, and other retailers. These lipsticks are housed in a luxurious ornate black lipstick tube with a very intricate embossed pattern all over. The top and bottom of each tube have gold detailing with the Kilian logo etched in the top. The tube has a nice weight to it and adds a luxurious feeling to the lipstick. The cap of the tube clicks on and off, like a traditional lipstick tube. The lipstick has the luxurious detail of the Kilian logo imprinted into the side of the lipstick.

SHADES
These lipsticks come in a wide variety of shades, now they have added nude shades, from nude to vibrant reds and pinks. Seeing as how they just started adding nude shades, I'm sure this shade range will be extended even further in the future. Admittedly, all these nude shades look quite similar swatched and on the lips but they are all very universally flattering! It's nice to see a brand be very considerate and exclusive to the wide variety of skin tones out there.

Nude in Bed - This shade is a warm medium pink nude that will add color to lips without washing out your complexion. Though this is the lightest shade in the range, it is still medium in depth and pigment, which means it should suit a wide range of skin tones and look natural on the lips.

Nude Desert Rose - This shade is a cool medium rose that will flatter a wide range of skin tones. This shade is also a great my-lips-but-better shade or bridal shade for many people. It will suit just about any look from everyday to something more glamourous.

FORMULA
These lipsticks have an obvious perfume scent, which I don't normally go for because it can be extremely overwhelming but the Kilian fragrances are very pleasant and soft. I find the scent is really only there while you're applying the lipstick but very quickly disappears. The scent isn't bothersome at all and it adds a nice luxurious touch to the lipstick.

The lipsticks are very pigmented and rich in color. You can dab on the lipstick lightly for a soft lip look or you can swipe it on for a rich full-color lip look. You really only need one swipe to get full coverage color on the lips. The formula is very lightweight and doesn't even feel like you have anything on, making this formula extremely comfortable. The beauty of this formula is that it doesn't sink into your lip lines or emphasize texture. It just has a very smooth texture and you don't need a lip liner to prevent feathering, movement, or define the lips. The lipstick does it all!
The matte finish of these lipsticks is a very pretty soft matte but not quite a velvet finish. The lipsticks do have a creamy texture but I wouldn't call the emollient. They just glide on very easily and leave your lips with a very natural finish. The matte finish almost reminds me of the natural texture and finish of your lips, just with a different color.

These lipsticks are very comfortable to wear and will last from 5 to 8 hours, depending on how much you eat and drink. Since the pigment is so rich, even these nude shades last very long without fading and when they do fade, it looks very natural on the lips. The nude shades don't stain the lips but they will wear well on the lips. You can expect transfer from this traditional cream formula because it doesn't set to the lips but because the formula is so light, it adheres to the lips well and only transfers very minimally.

FINAL THOUGHTS
These luxury lipsticks have really impressed me! I'm often very skeptical about products by luxury brands breaking into the beauty market but these don't feel like an expensive cash-grab. These lipsticks are actually luxurious inside and out! The formula is impressively comfortable and can be worn for hours without drying out the lips. The lightweight yet pigmented formula is very unique and feels exceptional on the lips. These lipsticks are so effortless, I have applied them without a mirror. The shade range for these lipsticks is quite wide and universally flattering, offering something for everybody! This is my first experience with Kilian lipsticks and it couldn't be more positive! Not only do I highly recommend these lipsticks, but I also plan on purchasing some more shades! I look forward to seeing the brand expand its lipstick shade range in the future!
