| Review | Augustinus Bader The Body Oil
My goal to bathe in Augustinus Bader products is coming true with the release of new body product formulations, including this body oil. As a person with dry skin, I really love body oil for nourishing and hydrating my skin. This one includes the magical Augustinus Bader cell renewal skincare technology, TFC8, which is an incredible anti-aging ingredient. This ingredient makes this oil beyond just a body oil, it is a body treatment. As a huge fan of the brand, I have high hopes for this formula. Read on to find out if this oil is worth the high price tag.
The Augustinus Bader The Body Oil retails for $95.00 USD and is available at Augustinus Bader and other retailers. This body is housed in a blue glass bottle with a copper twist-off cap. The actual opening of the body oil has a stopper with a small opening to control the dispense of the oil, like a built-in dropper. While I like the control I get from this packaging, I would much prefer a pump because this small opening is still a bit messy.
When my bottle was shipped to me, the cap was just barely loose and a bit of the oil had leaked out. You will need to be very careful to be sure your cap is securely screwed on, to prevent leaking with this packaging. Despite that, this oil has a very luxurious packaging that is cohesive with the luxury branding. You really get your money's worth with Augustinus Bader from the packaging to the product, which is something I've always appreciated about the brand.
FORMULA
The body oil feels lightweight but it still has a very viscous texture, which is great during dispensing because the product doesn't pour out of the bottle. The slightly thicker viscous texture comes out of the bottle in drops, which helps you control how much you're using. The texture feels very rich and nourishing but it doesn't leave the skin feeling extra greasy and slick. While the oil doesn't absorb immediately, it leaves a very comfortable hydrating and light veil of oil over the skin.
A little product does a fairly long way but if you slather your whole body in it, like me, you will probably find that this product doesn't last as long, compared to the body cream. What sets this oil formula apart from the lotion or body cream is that it gives your skin a beautiful glow. This oil leaves the skin with a very healthy and natural glow but still keeps the skin very touchable. One of the things my boyfriend hates it when I'm, in his opinion, "sticky". This left my skin with a layer of oil on my skin but he didn't seem to notice that I was greasy or had any texture on my skin.
The slower absorption of this oil leaves your skin with a glow from the oil for a while, which I really enjoy. It is a great way to have a glow without the shimmer. Immediately after application, your skin instantly looks healthier and it's not just because of the glow. This oil really sinks into the skin making it look smoother and more flawless. After several hours, there will be more absorption and you will notice your skin feeling significantly softer! There will still be a light veil of oil on your skin but again, it's not uncomfortable but very touchable. Plus, the glow is so beautiful!
I do find this body oil significantly more hydrating than many that I have tried. There's honestly nothing that softens my skin more than Augustinus Bader products. While this formula is extremely hydrating, it isn't as hydrating as the body cream, which is very thick and rich. I don't think that is the purpose of this oil formula. I think it is meant to be a lighter formulation, which is ideal for hot summer days and for those who can't stand having something heavy, like cream on their body. This still provides just as much hydration but with a lighter feeling.
Even after the oil has fully absorbed into the skin, you will the difference in your skin. Your skin will feel SO SOFT! It will feel smoother, look healthier, and it will feel hydrated. This oil provides long-lasting hydration, which extends beyond 24 hours! With my dry skin, I am always searching for products that will provide extended hydration and this product exceeds my expectations! Even when I'm showering the next evening, I feel like this oil is still on my skin and I'm washing the remnants off. It really is that hydrating!
Like the body cream, this product claims to help reduce the appearance of cellulite. I have noticed these areas lighten subtly but nothing dramatic. This is because I haven't been using the products consistently on my skin. However, when I do use this oil on my skin, I always notice it looking healthier, feeling firmer, and my stretch marks appearing lighter.

TFC8- The magical ingredient in all Augustinus Bader formulas, TFC8, is a patented amino acid complex blended with vitamins developed by Augustinus Bader. It is touted by the brand as a miracle ingredient that helps with cell renewal and even cellulite. Until now, it was only available in cream formulations but Augustinus Bader has surprised us all with the launch of oil formulations. While I can't totally confirm the cellulite claims, I have seen improvement in my cellulite. I know for a fact that their cell renewal technology is the best I've ever tried, which is why I am so dedicated to the brand. This ingredient is truly what sets this product apart from the competition and 100% justifies the very high cost. This is the ingredient that instantly softens the skin and makes your skin look incredibly healthy.
Vitamin E - Known for fighting free radical damage, vitamin E isn't only extremely nourishing, it is an excellent anti-aging ingredient. Vitamin E also helps absorb UVB light protecting your skin from sun damage and burning. Vitamin E protects the skin's cell membranes keeping your skin healthy and hydrated. It also has a soothing effect, fighting inflammation, which is ideal for those with skin conditions. It is also packed with antioxidants, which also significantly contribute to aging prevention.

I have always been a huge fan of body oils but the greasiness can be a bit much for the evenings. This one has the perfect texture and emollience. It isn't too greasy but still offers so much rich hydration to the skin. Plus, the ease of application is so wonderful for those who hate rubbing in lotion or body cream for days. This oil just glides onto the skin and starts absorbing immediately but doesn't leave the skin feeling dry. Your skin feels very healthy, hydrated, and nourished. The glow it offers is incredible! It radiates the skin in a healthy veil but doesn't make the skin feel slick or heavy.
The real magic of this body oil is that it truly improves your skin over time. My skin is the softest, smoothest, and healthiest looking when I'm using this body oil in particular. I have never had results from a body oil like this one! If you want truly healthier and more youthful skin, this body oil is potent and delivers in all its claims! I just wish the bottle was larger because I love slathering all over my body and I find myself going through it fairly quickly. However, it's always a delight and such a treat to use! It feels so luxurious and makes my skin looks o beautiful. I can see myself reaching for this oil to give me a glow when I'm going out but it also does such an amazing job at treating my skin! I can't recommend this body oil enough! I plan on repurchasing this oil again and again!
