If you have been following my blog or me since last year, you will know that I am a big fan of AveSeena and their skincare products (read my Essential Radiance Serum review here or my Ageless Perfecting Cream review here). I am in constant search of high quality, natural alternatives for skincare however, I find many brands are hit or miss. I have been so impressed with AveSeena from the beginning and I couldn't be more excited to try their very famous HoneyActive Beauty Mask, kindly sent by AveSeena.
This line is actually designed by Blogger and Scientist, Dr. Ebru Karpuzoglu, also known as Chicscience on Instagram. If you aren't already following her, you should because she has great taste in beauty! Besides that, she has over 20 years of experience studying the effects of estrogenic and endocirne disrupting chemicals on the immune system. In more simpler terms, she's an expert on how harmful chemicals affect the body. Long term exposure to these chemicals can cause a lot of problems which is why she created this all natural and luxurious line of skincare products.
The AveSeena line uses only all natural ingredients and combines it with science to create a potent and safe product that can be used for all skin types. It's not every line that has an immunologist, as the owner of the company, and a team of cosmetic scientists to create products. You know you are getting high quality and safe products from this bran because they are H-Free, which means they avoid a whole host of chemicals banned in many countries for their harmful effects. The AveSeena HoneyActive Beauty Mask retails for $76.00 USD for 3.34 fl. oz and is available at AveSeena. The product is housed in a heavy glass jar that exudes luxury! Along with this tub comes a little spatula to pick up your mask. I appreciate this addition because it can be difficult and annoying to stick your fingers into a jar to pick up product. Plus, this keeps your product sanitary. While the price seems high, you are getting a lot of product and trust me, you don't need much to get the job done!
This 3-in-1 mask serves various purposes, depending on your skin's needs. There are three recommended applications and uses of this product: (Here is a really helpful and cute illustrated guide to help you with application)
DEEP DETOXING
Deep Detoxing Facial-at-Home: Take a dollop of the mask and warm between your fingers. After warming, apply a generous layer on your dry face and let it sit for 10 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water with gentle movements. It works as a face mask and exfoliating detoxer, leaving skin cleansed, nourished and glowing. We recommend this application for especially rough feeling days.
The texture of this mask is very thick and sticky, just like honey. Taking a big dollop is a bit challenging but after warming it between your finger tips, you can easily spread and apply the mask to your face. This thick application really helps with detoxing and cleaning clogged pores. The mask has a slightly gritty texture and while you massage the product off of your face, you will feel your skin is significantly softer, supple, and refreshed!
LIGHT REFRESHING MASK
Light Refreshment: Mix a dollop of the mask in your hand with 1-2 drops of water before application and then apply to dry face. Remove the mask with warm water after 10 minutes. This application is ideal for an instant glow and a quick pick me up.This method is much easier means of application because it helps reduce the stickiness and help with spread the product evenly across the face. I think this is my preferred method of application because it is easy to manipulate the product and it doesn't feel as tacky on the skin. Also, I often don't have time for a full masking session so this is a great quick way to boost my skin's appearance, detox, and infuse goodness into my skin, quickly.
POWERHOUSE FACIAL
Powerhouse Facial: Add a drop of (a pump full of) Essential Radiance Serum to the mask and mix it well before application. Apply to dry face and let it do its magic for 10-15 minutes. Wash with lukewarm water. Add Essential Radiance Serum – into a high-performance facial to deliver radiance and smoothness gently to reveal a fresher, more vibrant skin – instantly.
This method of application is very easy to apply and creamy on the skin. With a couple pumps of the Essential Radiance Serum mixed in, the product spreads over the skin like a dream and feels so nourishing! If you think these other applications make your skin feel soft, you haven't felt anything yet! This mixture is potent and skin softening! The serum alone, makes your skin so soft and supple (read my full review here) but combined with the nourishing ingredients of this mask, it is a total game changer! This is skincare treat and I love to leave this mask on as long as I can, to really allow my skin to drink up all the benefits of this mask.
I don't think I can say enough great things about this product and the AveSeena brand, they have really created a beautiful and potent line of natural products! This is something that is severely lacking in the beauty industry and it is great to see a brand dedicated to providing high-quality and potent natural products to their customers. Honey - Anti-bacterial for acne treatment and prevention, moisturizing and soothing fro a glow and minimizes inflammation, clarifying by opening up pores making them easy to unclog, and packed full of antioxidants for anti-aging
Kaolin Clay - Detoxifying and oil-controlling, also offers gentle exfoliation to the skin
Fruit and Flower Extracts - These extracts energize and refresh the skin. Plus vitamin C really helps brighten the face and helps with discoloration.
Botanical Oils - This blend of coconut, castor seed camellia, and sunflower oils help hydrate the skin but doesn't make your skin feel heavy or clogged.
This honey-based mask smells so amazing, I mean literally good enough to eat! I just have to take a moment to talk about how delicious it smells, the mask contains honey, cocoa (chocolate), and oranges. It smells like the most amazing dessert ever but not sugary, just decadent, sweet and comforting. I am a huge fan of honey-based products for their naturally healing and nourishing properties, this mask's effectiveness is accelerated by science and other amazing natural ingredients. I love the gentle exfoliating texture and the luxurious feeling. It is unlike any mask I have used before and it is exceptional! The mask will dry down after about 10 minutes, creating a layer over the skin and as you remove it, it exfoliates the skin. There are so many ways to use this mask, which not only makes it fun, but helps you customize your skincare routine. I often use the different application methods (previously discussed) on different areas of my face, depending on my needs. Like multi-masking, I will use the detoxing method on my t-zone and the powerhouse facial on my cheeks.
I love masking but I often don't have the time or make the time for it weekly. With this product, I want to make the time to use it because it is so relaxing and nourishing! The nice part is I don't have to make time for it because if I want a quick pick-me-up mask, I can use the light application of this product! After using it for some time now, I have notice a huge improvement in my skin and even my once very noticeable sun spots, have seem to faded! I can say enough great thing about the AveSeena brand, they have really created some beautiful and unique products in a massive toxic and chemical filled beauty market. Their product have really made such a huge impact on my skin's health and appearance!
