Review: Cle de Peau Liquid Rouge

As many of you who follow me on Instagram know, I am a HUGE lip lacquer-fiend! When Cle de Peau released these glorious glossy lippies, I knew I had to have them in my life! These lacquers are part of their autumn/winter 2016 collection and I must say, I'm loving that glossy lips are back on trend! I don't own many Cle de Peau products but I was very excited to get my hands on these!

The Cle de Peau Liquid Rouges retail for $48.00 USD and are available at Neiman Marcus and other retailers They come in 8 different shades, ranging from nude to deep red. I own the shades 11, 14, 15, 16. Number 15 was kindly sent complimentary by Influenster for review and testing purposes. These beauties are packaged in a small and short glass ombre tube, a similar ombre design to the Giorgio Armani Lacquers, with the lip color shown on the bottom. The packaging has some weight and does show all fingerprints. The packaging is so luxe and compact, great for a small clutch or wristlet! The applicator is a angled flat doe-foot applicator that easily gets around the curves of the lips.

The formula is very smooth and moisturizing. It is so comfortable to wear and can be considered a texture between a balm and a gloss. I bought these while I was in the desert and my lips were so parched and dry. These lacquers smoothed over all the dry texture and made my lips feel so nice! You really couldn't tell how dry my lips were! The pigment is light but buildable with a glossy finish. The first layer is on the sheerer side and look like a typical gloss. I honestly wouldn't call these lacquers at all. They are not long-wearing and transfer very easily like a lip gloss.  The "gloss" finish is no more glossy than a typical lip gloss.

Shade 11 is a soft peachy nude shade. It is such a beautiful nude that will work on fair to tan skin tones. The peachiness works so well with a warm skin tone. It pairs beautifully with a smokey eye for a night out.

Shade 14 is a bright nuetral nude pink. This one can look more nude on someone with a medium or tan skin tone. Beautiful for anyone from fair to dark, it will just look more nude on a darker skin tone.

Shade 15 is a cool pink-purple shade. This one was the most unique of the shades available and I had to get it! Although it is quite cool, the pink in it, makes it very flattering on a warm skin tone. This one is a bit edgy and fun, I like pairing it with a winged-liner or something more simple on the eyes. This one will suit all skin tones.

Shade 16 is a vibrant coral shade. I love a good coral lippie, so naturally I had to get this shade. This shade is the most warm toned shade in the collection. It will suit anyone from fair to dark, It is more of a "summer" shade but it really brightens and warms up the skin tone. I love it with a bronze or gold eye look.

Overall, I highly recommend these! Although they aren't lip lacquers, their formula and packaging are worth the hefty price tag! The formula really does glide across the lips and doesn't sink into any lip lines or crevices. They make my lips appear smoother, plumper, and disguise any imperfections! Plus the formula is soooo.... comfortable! I can't rave about these enough! They are the ultimate tinted lip balm!

Let me know your thoughts on  these lip lacquers. Do you have a favorite lip lacquer? or recommendations for Cle de Peau products?
