COOLA does an impressive packaging job! From the box to the bottle, it feels so high quality and luxurious. The box the product comes in is a very thick cardboard material that slides open to reveal the beautiful glass bottle inside. The package of the actual product is a very sophisticated brown frosted glass bottle. It feels very heavy and luxurious. The pump mechanism dispenses a small amount of product, which is great for controlling how much you want to use. You can always pump more, if needed.

The product is a clear serum with a gradual tanner that not only treats the skin, but gives it a beautiful and natural glow. The serum contains skin-treating ingredients, such as hylauronic acid, vitamin, c, and argan oil, to hydrate, brighten, and smooth the skin. As with all their products, most of the ingredients are organic and this product doesn't contain any preservatives and parabens! I really appreciate their commitment to providing clean and natural products. Many higher end brands claim their products are "natural" or "contain natural" ingredients but often the truth is, the amount of natural ingredients is minuscule!

This product is versatile and can be used many ways. As with any kind of self-tanning product, skin preparation is highly recommended. Especially if you have dry or textured skin, be sure to use a scrub prior to use. This product is a gradual tanner, so if you are trying to achieve some serious color as soon as possible, it is recommended that you layer the product or use it day and night. You can apply this directly to you cleansed skin or for even more gradual effect, mix it in with your moisturizer. If you use this product at night, COOLA recommends that you sleep in dark clothing and sheets. I used this product in the evening and I have not noticed any staining but I do have dark colored sheets and pillowcases.

The effect is subtle yet noticeable but can be somewhat accelerated through continual use or layering. After using it one night, I saw an immediate difference in my skin! I had a noticeable amount of color all over and it was very even and natural! I love this product because year-round, I often have the problem that my face and particularly, neck is lighter than the rest of my body! With this gradual tanning serum, I can have an even skin tone all around! Also, it's kind of nice that I don't have to switch up foundations or buy a new shade for fall/winter! Plus, I love the high quality and clean ingredients included! I have always been a gradual tan fan but I am usually deterred by the fake-tan scent (you will understand if you use fake tan often), I haven't noticed much of a "fake-tan fragrance" with this product, which is really nice! You can't go wrong with a a skin nourishing serum that adds a little touch of color. My winter skin is very thankful to have this.

The color is very natural and can be built up quite quickly because I had a very noticeable amount of tan after one night of use! For me, that one application just the perfect amount of color to even out my skin tone and give me a healthy glow to my face. I have also notice that this serum is incredibly hydrating! My skin felt amazing in the morning, it was so plump, hydrated, and smooth! I really feel that the nourishing ingredients in the product made a difference in my skin. This product really does treat and tan the skin so well! I was a bit skeptical because these dual-purpose products tend to lack in one of the departments and it's usually in the skincare portion. COOLA , to me, is a very high quality and trusted skincare brand. I really believe that they would not sacrifice the skincare properties just for some tanning properties. This product was shockingly impressive and I will be using it all throughout winter and spring, until I can get out in the sun more. It is a great hydrating and tanning treatment for all skin types and skin tones!

With the weather dial being stuck on "summer" in California, we are definitely being exposed to more sun than we should in the middle of autumn. Even if it isn't super sunny where you are, SPF is an everyday essential for keeping your skin looking healthy and youthful. That is why COOLA kindly sent me this makeup primer with SPF 30 to try out.

COOLA is a brand that believes in creating products with a high level of protection with purest ingredients possible. Their products are made with 97% certified organic ingredients. This eco-conscious brand uses natural, sustainable, and local sourced ingredients in all their products. That should make you feel really good about what you are putting on your skin and where you money is going to. They essential believe that what we put on our bodies is as important as what we put in our bodies, so they created products that are "food for the skin". I love this concept, especially with so many brands on the market profiting off of selling products with tons of cheap fillers and ingredients. If I am going to use a product daily, I definitely want to use the best product for my skin and body.

The COOLA Classic SPF 30 Dawn Patrol Makeup Primer retails for $42.00 USD for 1oz. and is available at Sephora, COOLA, and other retailers. The packaging for this product is all around very impressive and feels luxurious.  The outside, cardboard packaging is very thick and the top slides off to reveal the bottle inside. The primer bottle itself, is a beautiful lightly frosted glass bottle that is very heavy and luxurious in your hands. There is a pump mechanism that is easy to control and dispense your desired amount of product but you really only need about a "dime-sized" amount.

The product is a classic clear, silicone-based primer. Initially from just looking at it, it looks like your standard primer but it is the ingredients that are very impressive. If you want a clean primer, this is one is the way to go!

Here is the full list of ingredients:

Isododecane, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Butyloctyl Salicylate, Iris Pallida Leaf Cell Extract, Lonicera Japonica Callus Extract, Nymphaea Alba Leaf Cell Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Withania Somnifera Root Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Flavor.

You'll notice right away that they're aren't that many ingredients! Also, look at how clean those ingredients are! No preservatives and parabens here!

The primer has a very classic silicone-texture, very slippery, when it is applied on the skin. That feeling is a little unappealing initially but as soon as it absorbs into the skin, the slippery-greasy feeling disappears. The product absorbs quite quickly and creates a very invisible but smooth veil over the skin. It doesn't really seem to visibly change the appearance of your skin but when you begin to apply foundation, you will see how evenly and smooth it applies! Your foundation will sit on your skin better and seem to provide more coverage, because it is actually sitting where you place it evenly, instead of trying to buff and blend out strange lines or patches, which then sheers out your foundation. I really noticed a big change in how my foundation applied but also looked on my skin. My skin seemed smoother and any texture or pores on my skin were non-existent. The primer seemed to seamlessly fuse my foundation and skin together, making my base feel so light and invisible! The problem I often have with silicone-based primers is that I can feel it on the skin, this one is so weightless and doesn't fell like an extra layer of product on the skin.

One thing to note is it will pill over moisturizer. Just be sure your moisturizer is fully absorbed and there is no residue on the top of your skin. I find that if I don't let the moisturizer fully absorb, it will cause a the moisturizer to ball up, or "pill". This is not uncommon with primers however it is a minor inconvenience.

I highly recommend this primer! The clean ingredients alone have me in love with it but the invisible feeling on my skin is what I love so much! Some primers feel heavy all day long, this one feels like nothing on. The smoothing and pore-filling properties are so wonderful and its ability to extend the lasting power of my base makes it a gem in my collection. It really give my skin a flawless and oil-free finish for hours! If you have sensitive skin, this may be a great option since there are no chemicals and less ingredients to be reactive towards. Plus there is no fragrance, which over time can get very annoying and can often irritate the skin. The SPF is a great because I am often too lazy and don't want to add an additional product to my routine. I can see this being my go-to primer for the spring and summer when I am out and about more!
