| Review | Victoria Beckham Cheeky Posh Cream Blush Stick
Cream blushes got a new chic makeover from the Queen of Chic herself, Victoria Beckham, aka Posh! As a cream blush fan and a Victoria Beckham Beauty fan, I couldn't be more excited to see the release of these cream blushes. I'm a fiend for cream blushes and effortless makeup. This latest launch is right up my alley and I'm excited to share my full thoughts on this formula.
PRICE & PACKAGING
The Victoria Beckham Cheeky Posh Cream Blush Stick retails for $42.00 USD for 5 grams and is available at Victoria Beckham Beauty. These cream blushes are housed in a sleek and luxurious tube with the VBB iconic tortoiseshell pattern. These tubes look exactly like the Posh Lipstick tubes but larger. These cream blushes actually have a much smaller circumference than a typical cream blush stick but I really like that because you get more precision during application.
While these look small and slim, they contain 5 grams, which isn't much less than comparable luxury blush sticks. The Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick retails for $48.00 USD and contains 6 grams of product. The Hourglass Vanish Blush Stick retails for $46.00 USD for 6 grams of product (full review here). The Victoria Beckham Blush Sticks seem to have just a bit less but they also cost slightly less.
SHADES
This formula currently comes in five wearable shades that will suit a wide range of skin tones. I would definitely say it's an incomplete shade range for blushes but for an initial release, it's a really good start. I suspect that there will be more shades released in the future for this range, as she has done with previous products. I purchased all the shades available.
Playground, Knickers, Miniskirt, Major, Rollerskate |
Playground - This shade is a soft camel bronze shade with a barely-there rosy tone. This is the most neutral shade in the whole range and it will complement any look you want to pair it with. This shade will best suit fair to tan skin tones but it will be too light for really deep skin tones. I would like to see more neutral cheek colors like this one but for medium to deep skin tones. If you want a similar shade but for a deeper skin tone Miniskirt is quite neutral as well.
Knickers - This shade is a light pale peach this shade has a pastel undertone, which makes it a little less universal. Since it is such a light shade, this blush will suit fair to medium skin tones. This is a shade that will have a hard time showing up on tan to deep skin tones.
Miniskirt - This shade is a medium rosewood shade, which is a blend of brown and a rusty rose shade. This is a very complex shade and it is the deepest one in the current range. This shade will suit fair to deep skin tones.
Major - This shade is a neutral medium pink that leans just a touch warm. This is a universally flattering pink that brightens any complexion. This is the ideal everyday blush shade for most skin tones.
Rollerskate - This shade is a bright and vibrant coral-pink. This is the brightest shade in the range and it will suit fair to deep skin tones. This is a shade that will bring a healthy vibrance to any skin tone.

FORMULA
This formula is very creamy and emollient but leaning a little balmier. It really reminds me a lot of the texture of the Posh Lipsticks but not nearly as emollient. The more balmy texture allows it to adhere better to the skin and it doesn't have the type of emollience that just melts off your face. The formula glides on very easily, which is great for when you swipe the stick directly onto the skin because it doesn't move or remove your base. It also blends into the skin really effortlessly, whether you're using your fingers or a brush. My preferred application method is to swipe the stick directly onto the skin and using a small stippling brush, I stipple around the edges to blend in the blush.

What I really love about this formula is the very buildable pigmentation. The pigment starts off with a medium pigment but with translucency to it so, when you blend it into the skin, it looks really seamless and looks like the flush is coming from within. You can easily layer on more without going overboard because of the translucency of the rich pigment. If you have a deeper skin tone but you're using a lighter shade, you can continue to layer on the blush to deliver the true color that you see in the stick!

The finish of these blushes is the perfect happy medium between dewy and natural. This formula has a glow to it but it isn't too glossy or dewy that it would look greasy on an oily skin type. It definitely leaves a noticeable glow to the skin but I don't think it ever looks too greasy or oily. That being said, for some people who are extra oily, you still may find this formula too emollient and dewy. I would definitely put this in the "healthy glow" category of cream blushes.

This formula is touted as "water-resistant" by the brand, which is a true statement. When I swatched these, I spritzed my skin heavily with water and the water sat on top of the blush and didn't disturb the blush. However, as soon as I rubbed my finger over the surface, it did lift the blush and I had a light layer of blush on my finger. What was impressive was that while the blush did rub off, not all of it rubbed off and it rubbed off very evenly! So, there was still a very even layer of blush on my skin! Obviously, it isn't waterproof but say that you get caught in some light rain, your blush won't be melting off or look patchy! Also, it should help withstand some sweat.
These blushes wear for about six to beyond eight hours, depending on your skin type, your daily activity levels, your local climate. On my normal to dry skin, it wears for about eight hours before starting to fade.
THE LOOK
I am wearing the shade Miniskirt. You can see how fresh and natural these cream blushes look on the skin. They really blend into the skin seamlessly. I know you can't see it that well n this picture but I did blend it well into the skin and the contrast with the dark lip washes the cheek color out in the camera.
FINAL THOUGHTS
First of all, the shades are stunning! I am very excited to see more shades released in this formula. The formula itself is beautiful and versatile for many skin types! I find the buildable pigment so lovely to work with and the rich pigment delivers the truest color on the skin. The cream formula glides on easily and is so blendable on the skin. It really looks like it is coming from within the skin and is a part of the skin. I find the finish is the perfect happy medium between dewy and natural, which will suit many skin types. These blushes just look so fresh and healthy on the skin! I love the water resistant formula because it makes it longer-wearing but the formula is still very comfortable to wear long-term. This formula really flexes with the skin and it will look good on skins of all ages. This formula is beautiful and impressive! I highly recommend these cream blushes! I really think they're one of the best products from the brand!
