I recently came to the realization the lack of love and care I put into the rest of my skin. So, I set off on a journey to care for my body the way I care for my face. My skin is dry and quite dehydrated so, despite layers of body cream and regular exfoliating, it just isn't enough. I actually started using a chemical exfoliator that is normally for the face all over my body and it made me think, "Why don't we treat our bodies like we treat our face?" We should, right?
It made me think that along with my exfoliating toner all over my body, that I should also start using a hyaluronic acid serum; however, that isn't fiscally realistic. Serums for the face often come in very small bottles and are extremely costly for the small amount of product. It made me wonder "Why hasn't anyone made a serum for the body?", enter in Nécessaire! This is EXACTLY what I've been wanting and needing for long! As soon as this popped up on Sephora, I snatched it up and after one night of use, I was OBSESSED! I actually wanted to order a backup but it's sold out! So, clearly, I'm not the only one desperate for a product like this!
PACKAGING & PRICE
The Nécessaire The Body Serum retails for $45.00 USD for 5.1 oz and is available at Sephora and other retailers. This body serum is housed in a large plastic pump bottle. It's very simple and sophisticated but most importantly, practical and functional. The plastic pump bottle is thick and feels quite luxurious, despite being made of plastic. The pump is large with a groove to help you easily pump the product out. The pump is easy to control and pumps out a very reasonable amount each time. You get a lot of product for the price, making this body serum a great value for the price.
FORMULA
Like I stated earlier, I believe in treating my body like I do with my face and I use a serum daily. I've been looking for a product like this for a while now, a product that is a true serum. Many "body serums" are actually just body oils, which I enjoy but what I really wanted was a water-based serum, like you would us on your face. I am so excited and happy to finally finds something like that for my body!
The dry skin on my body seems to drink any moisture I place on it and never seems satisfied with the amount of hydration, which is why I wanted a hyaluronic acid serum to help retain the moisture in my skin. This product does exactly that and so much more!
First of all, the texture is a light translucent white gel texture, very reminiscent of a classic hyaluronic acid serum. It is incredibly lightweight and it melts into the skin, like water. It feels incredibly refreshing and hydrating. The magic happens over time because as the serum soaks into your skin, the hyaluronic acid helps retain the moisture into your skin. I saw results AFTER ONE NIGHT OF USE! I was so impressed! I used this serum combined with the Nécessaire The Body Lotion (review coming soon).
The next morning, my skin feels INCREDIBLY SOFT and SO SMOOTH! This was THE BEST my skin has EVER felt! I really felt like my skin was completely renewed and rejuvenated! Now, I actually understand what "rejuvenated skin" means. I was shocked about how baby soft my skin felt. I don't ever remember my skin being this soft in my life. My legs, up until fairly recently, were often so dry that they look flaky and scaly. I started trying to trying to correct the dryness by using lotion but it never felt like enough. In the morning, my skin just felt a little less dry than it did before. What my skin truly needed is this product!
I found that with long term use, a couple of days, you will notice your skin feeling even softer, smoother, and feeling so hydrated. I noticed my skin looks significantly healthier than it did before! The texture of skin feels completely renewed and it just has a flawless appearance that I have never seen before! My skin actually looked more youthful, even my legs, which have some imperfections from old bug bite scars, looked youthful and flawless! This will also help you quickly and easily distribute the serum on the body. For even more hydration, spritz an extra layer of mist on your body after the serum is applied! Not only is it extremely refreshing in the warmer months but it gives the serum more moisture to retain in your skin.
Another way to extend your serum is by mixing it into your moisturizer. This way, you can use less product but still get a deeply hydrating effect. Since the hydrating serum is so potent, just a bit mixed in can really help hydrate your skin. I often switch between these different methods to keep my skin healthy and hydrated.

I was instantly hooked on this body serum after the first use! This serum has transformed my skin! I have struggled for so long with dry scaly skin but after using this hydrating serum, my skin was renewed! My skin is so much softer, smoother, and healthier after using this serum. I can't imagine being without it now that I've incorporated it into my routine. It just transforms my skin overnight in a way that no other product has done before. I am now a huge believer in body care and treating my body as well as I do with my face.
