| Review | Guerlain Meteorites Highlighter Palette

Guerlain is bringing on the glow this spring and summer with a highlighter palette inspired by their beloved and famous meteorites! This trio of soft and luminous highlighter shades is an alluring and ethereal face palette. This luxurious palette is an exciting launch for the brand, expanding their offerings for the seasons while playing well with their permanent collection.

The Guerlain Meteorites Highlighter Palette retails for $65.00 USD and is available at Sephora and other retailers. This highlighter palette comes in a surprisingly large round compact! I was expecting a normal-sized compact that would fit I'm my palm but the palette is quite large and a very reflective plastic silver. It has the beautiful meteorites emblem printed in the front. The compact is very fingerprint prone because of its reflective design and the compact is magnetic. 

SHADES

The palette contains three shimmering shades that are very reminiscent of the soft pastel tones of the meteorites. The three shades included are:

White Gold - This shade looks like a soft yellow in the pan but on the skin, it is a silvery-white pearl with a strong yellow-gold reflect. 

Pink - This shade is a soft and light cool pink shade with a pink and white pearl. 

Peach - This shade is a soft peach shade with some fine gold shimmer that doesn't look too warm or orange on the skin. This shade has the most subtle glow of all the shades and is more subdued on my medium skin tone.

FORMULA 

These highlighters are PIGMENTED! Insanely pigmented! I made the mistake of getting overly excited and picking up a lot of product and ended up with quite a heavy streak on my cheeks. The powder is extremely soft and smooth. When you dip your brush into the product it picks up quite a lot of product. I recommend tapping some off onto the back of your hand to help evenly distribute all the product on the brush and take some off.

These highlighting powders leave a very strong almost-metallic pearl finish to the skin. I would best describe the finish as a strong metallic pearl because the particles of shimmer are so fine, they create a strong beam of light as opposed to flecks of shimmer on the cheeks. This intense finish can be too strong for those with textured skin or pores unless applied it very sparingly. This borderline frosty texture can bring out even minor texture but this is only because these highlighters are so pigmented. I still think the finish is very sophisticated and refined when applied subtly.




These highlighters blend very easily and the powder texture is almost creamy. The fine powder there's very well to the skin. These highlighters stay strong all day long, looking just as intense at the end of a long day, as it did when I first applied them. I always appreciate a long-wearing product that doesn't fade with wear. This will be particularly helpful during the warmer months.

THE LOOK

I started with the peach shade on my cheekbones and I was so curious about layering the pink shade on top and it got a bit out of hand. Still, the luminous beam across my cheeks doesn't emphasize any texture and looks pretty good.

FINAL THOUGHTS 





This trio is impressively pigmented! This contrasts very strongly with the actual meteorites. which has a very soft and subtle glow. However, that isn't a bad thing, it's just a little more difficult to control your application. Be wary, if you're a heavy-handed person. That being said, I love the smooth and ultra-fine consistency of these powder highlighters! The superfine pearl creates such a beautiful beam of light on the cheeks and blends beautifully into the skin. The shades are also all very different from each other, adding a ton of versatility and value to having three shades in a palette. They all offer their own unique look or they can be layered and mixed together for a whole different look! I'm very impressed with this pigmented palette, it shows the bolder side of Guerlain and it's something really beautiful for many skin tones. If you're a fan of a strong highlight, then I think you're going to love these highlighters! They really deliver the glow! For the price and pigmentation, I highly recommend this palette! You need so little to get an impact that you'll be using this palette for a long time.
