Review: Stemology Cell Revive Serum Complete and Eye Serum Complete with StemCore-3

A month ago, I received these products from Stemology and since then I have been using them daily, daytime and nighttime. I had never heard of their line until they had contacted me but some of their products have received lots of press on various popular magazines and TV shows in the US.  I was very intrigued by these products due to their interesting technology and press around these two particular products.

Stemology have combined science and nature to create their skincare products, Their story is a fascinating one and it is what excited me about trying their products. Here is a link to their full story: https://stemologyskincare.com/about-us/our-story/

Here are some excerpts that give you some insight into their line and their technology:
Working with top researchers, they were able to isolate a series of actives derived from the human adult stem cell and from there began formulating a Facial Serum that could help mimic the body’s natural “repair response.”
Stemology is the first and only brand to bring together both human and plant stem cell technologies – incorporating the superior features of each – along with a stem cell communicator that greatly enhances intercellular communication to maximize the benefit of stem cell “signaling” growth factors.
Their StemCore-3 technology is quite remarkable here is the excerpt from their website:
The foundational ingredients of the flagship products of Stemology are based upon 20 years of stem cell research and studying the effects of topical application of cell derivatives with the core active ingredients for the StemCore-3 formulation.
Regenerative medicine, also known as Stem cell therapy, has a well-proven track record in the cell treatments of heart disease, MS, macular degeneration, cancers and many other diseases. Organ-specific adult stem cells are already proven to be quite effective in a variety of treatments for illness as well as regeneration of associated organs.
Our scientific and medical research supports the conclusion that stem cell derivatives, skin specifically cell cultured tissue combined with peptides, antioxidants, plant stem cells and ingredient “helpers” provide a highly effective anti-aging skin care system.
Stem cells, in general, rejuvenate.  They trigger the production of new healthy cells in the human body based upon the particular organ cells the stem cell is “encoded” to stimulate.
Stem cells are our “natural” defense against deterioration of the body. As adult humans, we produce stem cells which have much to do with the rejuvenation of the cells of our organs.  By the time we reach 50 years in age, our bodies have only 2% of the stem cells with which we were born. As we age, our bodies reserve the use of remaining stem cells for trauma repairs. Since stem cells repair deterioration, the lack of available stem cells contributes to the aging of our organs … including the skin, the largest organ of the human body.
Through 20 years of scientific and clinical development, we have created a methodology to produce a unique derivative of stem cell tissue that can be absorbed into the skin.

Our all natural stem cell extract is pure and safe.  Our formulations are all natural, non-pathogenic, ecologically friendly, and free of all chemical additives and ethically formulated.
and for those who are worried about the ethical implications behind their research and technology
they have a strict ethical policy. Here is the excerpt from their website:
Regarding human stem cells:We will not use embryonic stem cells in any of our research work, nor will we use them in the production of our stem cell extracts.  None of our products will be made from human fetal tissue; nor will any of our research and development be done with any human fetal tissue.  We will maintain our commitment to use only adult human stem cell technology in our research and in the development of our products.
Regarding “Natural” and “Organic” products and ingredients:When the term “Natural Products” is used in the world of skin care it often has a wide variation of meanings.  First, “natural products” and “organic products” are not the same thing.  For a product to be labeled organic each ingredient should be certified “organic.”  Although we have a number of certified organic ingredients in our products, not all of our ingredients are so.  We are not striving to have certified organic products and will not label them as such unless they truly are.
We are dedicated, however, to the natural origin, purity and safety of the ingredients in our products.  We are committed to the use of natural ingredients.  Our definition of a natural product is one that has ingredients derived from chemical compounds found in nature, either in a botanical (herb, flower, root, etc), or the human body (Hyaluronic acid, Coenzyme Q10, protein peptides, etc.).  Our natural products will use emollients, preservatives, emulsifiers, and thickeners that are derived from nature by combining the healing and nutritive characteristics of plant extracts and whole food ingredients with the advances of science.  What will not be found in our natural skin care products are  chemical ingredients derived from petroleum, ethoxylates, formaldehyde donors, sulfates, parabens, GMO’s or artificial colors.  All fragrances will be from natural essential oils or distillates.
Our preservatives will be a combination of natural anti-oxidants which keep oils from turning rancid, plus broad spectrum preservatives which boost the action of the natural preservatives and provide protection against bacteria, microbes, yeast, fungi and molds, which can pose serious health risks if allowed to develop within a product.  No preservative will be used that has its source from the previous list of disallowed ingredients.  This is our definition of “natural” products.  This is our commitment to you our customer and the planet.
Our ethics policy regarding animal based ingredients:We do not use ingredients from animal products or by-products except for those produced by live animals such as milk, honey, lanolin, etc.  We do not use products that were developed using animal testing, nor do we do any animal testing with our products.
Now that you've read about all the science and ethics behind the skincare line, I assume if your're still reading you are interested in the products, as I was, after reading about Stemology.

The claims:

One Flawless Complexion for This Generation

Imagine. One remarkable product that combats the 12 signs of aging.  Merging the power of human stem cell proteins with the unique abilities of plant-based stem cell growth factors into a single formulation that makes last decade’s anti-aging serums weak, tired and so, so yesterday.
Imagine. Results in an hour (tighter, firmer, ‘lifted’ skin); more results in a week (fewer wrinkles, creases, fine lines); amazing results in a month (reduced dark spots, lighter, brighter skin and a perfectly even complexion).
Imagine.  A non-invasive alternative to Hyaluronic Acid injections to help ‘plump’ skin and recover volume and fullness.
Imagine more collagen, more elastin, more hydration and firmer, fuller, younger looking skin that continues to improve day after day after day.

By the Numbers

  • 96% observed a tightening, wrinkle-reducing effect within one hour*
  • 22% increase in skin lightening within two weeks*
  • After two weeks’ treatment, lab analysis showed that collagen was increased by more than 115%*
  • Elastin increased 25%*
  • Clinical tests show a significant decrease in skin pigmentation intensity along with a 28% reduction in brown spots*
  • A 19% reduction of superficial spots*
  • A 15% reduction in UV induced spots in just 8 weeks*

My opinion, based on these claims, is I did find many of these claims to be true! As you can see, they also have study files on the results they found.

Let me preface this product review by saying, yes, I am still in my 20's and luckily I have amazing genetics regarding my skin (thanks mom and dad!). I don't have sensitive skin, nor do I have any deep wrinkles, at this point in time. However, I am concerned about aging skin, as I am not getting any younger, and I am concerned with discoloration.  I do have some sun spots from sun damage and some fine lines. My mother always stressed the importance of skincare, but now that I am older, I understand why. There are many times I wished I had worn more sunscreen in my younger years, now I am hoping for a skincare regimen strong enough to prevent damage and hopefully, keep my mistakes from my younger years from catching up with me.

Back to the serum, it is a light-weight liquid serum in a plastic pump packaging. One pump is plenty of product for your entire face, I use about a pump and a half, so I can apply it to my neck as well. The serum has a fresh lightly herbal scent and it smooths easily on to the skin. It is moisturizing upon application and is absorbed in a minute or two. After it is absorbed into the skin, it has a tightening effect and your skin will feel firmer. I always follow up the serum with a good moisturizer. I found that the serum is the most effective and gives me the best results with a very hydrating moisturizer, like my current favorite, Sunday Riley Tidal.

When I wake up in the mornings, I can see my skin looking more hydrated, plump, and my skin feels very soft. After over a month of use, my skin still continue to feel very hydrate and soft, even without product on it. My fine lines seem to have plumped out and skin is smoother. I did see a bit of skin lightening and skin does appear overall more even. My skin definitely has an overall healthy look to it, even without product on it. I often feel the need to immediately apply my skincare after I shower or wash my face because it would feel dry and tight, but now I feel I don't need to apply something on my face immediately after washing.

Here are the ingredients in the serum:

Cell Revive Serum Complete Ingredients

Aloe barbadensis (Organic Aloe Vera) Juice, Human Stem Cell Derived Conditioned Media, Potassium Olivoyl Hydrolyzed Oat Protein and Cetearyl Alcohol and Glyceryl Oleate and Glyceryl Stearate, Sea Kelp (Lactobacillus/kelp ferment filtrate) Bioferment, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydrolyzed Pumpkin Seedcake, Prunus amygdalus dulcis (Sweet Almond) Seed Extract, Acacia senegal gum and Hydrolyzed Rhizobian Gum, Pisum sativum (Pea) Peptides, Secale cereale (Rye) Seed Extract, Punica granatum Extract & Citrus aurantium dulcis (Orange) Flower Extract, Sodium Lactate, Tripeptide-29, Propanediol, Phospholipid and Retinol and Panthenol and Niacinamide and Ascorbyl Palmitate and Tocopherol Acetate, Lactobacillus/Arundinaria gigantean (Bamboo) Leaf Ferment Filtrate, Sucrose Palmitate and Tocopheryl Acetate and Glyceryl Linoleate and Sodium Hyaluronate, Dimethylsulfone (MSM), Coco Caprylate, Squalane, Niacinamide, Benzyl Alcohol and Salicylic Acid and Sorbic Acid and Glycerin, Crocus chrysanthus Bulb Extract and Acacia senegal Gum, Lactobacillus / Punica Granatum Fruit Ferment Extract, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Vitis vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Limnanthes alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Argania spinosa (Organic Argan) Oil, Daucus carota (Carrot) Seed Oil, Myrciaria dubia (Camu Camu) Extract, Camelia sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Coffea arabica Extract, n Acetyl Glucosamine, Symphytum officinale Root Cell Extract, Ubiquinone (CoenzymeQ10), Alpha Lipoic Acid, Natural Fragrance
I really like that the line is cruelty-free, paraben-free, pthalate-free, and natural and organic.  I think its best to steer free of synthetic chemicals and preservatives as much as a person can, From what I can tell, this product does not contain any silicons, which are often used as filler in skincare to create the appearance and feel of smoother skin (like when your use a primer) but does not actually make you skin smoother or softer.

Overall, I think the serum is really nice! The price seems quite steep but based on all the work put in behind the technology, the fact that they have avoided parabens and preservatives, the natural and organic nature of the product it is a very fair price. Plus you receive 1.5oz ! There are products that are within the same price range but you only receive the standard 1.0oz of product. Again, although it is pricey, a little goes a very long way. It usually takes me a long time to finish my serums, almost a whole year, with daily use. I really like the way this product makes my skin look and feel. I notice my skin looking so soft and smooth. My fine lines have really plumped out and I no longer notice them! I would definitely purchase this product again in the future.

The Stemology Cell Revive Eye Serum Complete is $69.00 USD for .5oz available on the Stemology website.

The claims:

One Flawless Complexion for This Generation

Consider This: You look as young as your eyes… they are the very first place to betray your age with all the telltale signs: dark circles, collagen/elastin loss, crow’s feet, puffiness, and sagging upper and lower lids. It takes a complete formulation to target all aspects of eye care… to erase the look of fine lines and crows’ feet… without endangering the fragile, sensitive skin of the orbital eye area.
There is one formulation that does it all… Cell Revive Eye Serum Complete with StemCore-3.
Consider This: Cell Revive Eye Serum Complete uses a dual-approach that’s a critical part of our Stem Core-3 technology. First, you’ll see immediate results…  upper and lower lid tightening you’ll feel and see within minutes. In that same first few minutes fine lines and wrinkles look softer, smoother, less defined.
Longer-term, this remarkable serum reduces bags, dark circles and puffiness within 3 weeks. Only 3 weeks to the best looking eyes of your life!
Consider This:  The orbital eye area, more than any other, requires special emollients and moisture protection. That’s why Cell Revive Eye Serum Complete incorporates our exclusive Stemology Emollient Complex – Argan Oil, Carrot Seed Oil, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Squalane, Olive Oil, and Propanediol… PLUS, Borage Seed Oil for its high level of gamma-linolenic acid, which is ideal for dry skin around the eyes.

By the Numbers

  • 87% observed a significant decrease in crow’s feet in 28 days
  • Immediate tightening benefits were observed 3 minutes after application.
  • Invivo tests showed visible results in reducing eye puffiness and dark circles in just 3 weeks.
  • 3D histograms showed significant change in skin smoothing in just 1 hour.
*Study results on file
My opinion, based on these claims, is I did find good results with this eye serum. I am a big fan of eye serums because they tend to be light-weight but potent. With this serum you only need half a pump for both eyes. The serum is in a small pump container and the pump is easy to control. Like the face serum, it is very light-weight and smooths on to the skin easily. It is gentle around the eyes and does not cause any irritation. Also, like the face serum, it is moisturizing upon application but after a few minutes it is absorbed and there is a tightening effect.  I do notice a reduction in puffiness, especially when I wake up in the mornings, Usually, I tend to have quite puffy eyes but after using this product, I no longer have puffy eyes in the morning. After a month of use, I notice the fine lines are plumped and smooth, My eye area is very soft and firm. I don't feel the need to use a eye cream with this product because it provides enough moisture for my eye area, which saves me money and product.

Here are the ingredients in the eye serum:

  1. The Revive Eye is really intriguing I might buy it this month since I'm almost out of my eye cream. The cell revive complete definitely in a couple of months since I have plenty of serum to try and finish before the due date like Maylindstrom blue cocoon its only good for 12 months and I barely scratch it so I'm intending to start applying it on my body after shower everyday. I love your review and I will definitely get my hands on these bad boys one way or the other. JCJacobsOfficial

    1. I really love the eye serum! Let me know how you like it if you purchase it! I've been seeing the Maylindstrom blue cocoon everywhere! How do you like it? I've had it on my list but its quite pricey and I didn't know if it'd be worth it. Also, how do you use the product? As a moisturizer?

  2. I have been using Stemology Cell Revive Serum Complete with Stem Core 3 for about a month, and all I can say is, wow! What a difference in my skin! I have combination skin that is prone to breakouts. In one month, my breakouts have completely disappeared, and I have no clogged pores whatsoever. My pores are invisible, and my face feels soft and plump, even right after I shower, before I put any product on. My freckles have lightened up, and the skin under my chin is firmer. I can’t recommend this product enough. It only takes a small amount of product everyday, so one bottle lasts a long time. I am thrilled.
