Review: Mattified Lipstick in Sunday Vibes

If you don't already know about Estee Edit, it is Estee Lauder's younger and trendier line promoted by spokesmodel, Kendell Jenner. So if you thought Estee Lauder was for old ladies, think again! They've brought their beauty game up to the next level with a collection of makeup and skincare curated for the new generation of beauty consumers. The collection is a Sephora exclusive line and the promotional videos makes this line hard to resist.

"Rule breaker. Risk taker. Estee Lauder built her beauty empire by preaching “Beauty is an Attitude.” Now The Estee Edit brings you new beauty attitudes, inspired by Estee, curated by our Guest Editors of the moment–created by YOU. Wear it. Share It. Own It. #beautyattitudes "

The Estee Edit Mattified Lipstick ($22.00 USD for .12oz)  is a full-coverage conditioning matte lipstick.

The lipstick is packaged in a traditional cylindrical silver casing with a painted blue ombre. The lipstick feels significant in your hands, not cheap like some of the other packaging. My only disappointment is the blue ombre is very prone to wear, from initially opening the product, I could see the blue worn away from the casing. I can see this rolling around in my bag and eventually seeing the deterioration of the pretty blue ombre.

The lipstick is opaque in one swipe, as claimed by Estee Lauder. The formula of this lipstick is also creamy and conditioning. It feels great for long wear however, it does not wear as long because of the creamy texture. I don't mind reapplying lipstick and I often expect to. It is not a totally matte finish because of the creamy texture, it borders between satin and matte. This finish does not bother me, as I am not a huge fan of very matte lips. I prefer to choose comfort over finish.

The lipstick itself is beautiful pink-based nude shade, suitable for a variety of skin tones. It is not as pale on the lips, as it appears. I find that the nude shade of the bullet is not the shade that appears on my lips. It is much more pink than nude on the lips. If you desire the nude shade of the bullet, you may want to conceal your lips first.

Although I have not tried the other shades in this range, I am very impressed with the quality and formula of this lipstick. I feel confident recommending this line of lipsticks and I would love to try more, myself. The formula is so comfortable, it gives me hope for loving matte lip products.
